Insanely busy of late. Painted these guys in a batch to see if I could paint them quicker than I could individually. Individually I estimate that this batch i could do on a one model per day basis so 7 models in 7 days. Painted in a batch they took 8 days. Lesson learned.

I would say the only problem for a batch paint is the individuality of these figures. Their colour schemes does make it difficult. You could easily batch paint a bunch of bases.
I can 5 of my goblins in a day because they are identical.
Worth the experiment though, particularly if your snowed under.

Yeah, they look great! Batch painting is probably more hindrance than a help with such individual characters (not that it shows here), but for knocking out Warband quickly there are few better methods.

To which silver parts are you referring to bud? i sometimes glaize sepia into chainmail to give it a worn effect.

Well, I've noticed it on several of your minis lately, the armored dwarves in particular seem to have a lot of it on all their armor. I guess it's just me, but I personally don't like the look of sepia on silver. I myself usually use devlan mud, but if you like it then don't change out on my account. It seems like everyone else likes it, I was just curious :)
Great looking fellowship by the way!

I always batch pint infantry/grunts but on most occasion will paint individuals/characters one at a time, usually as a treat for myself after completed said infantry.
They do look rather nice though Kev ;)

Anyone would be glad to have a Fellowship painted to that standard. Way beyond my capabilities...

Amazing, can't believe I missed this last week!

The face on Legolas is unlike any I've seen before of him. Movie like would be an understatement! Love everything from the smallest details to the weathering on the cloaks. That is some very very proud work.

awesome stuff DMS. I really like the colors especially, goes well with the movie's version of the eye of sauron.

Awesome, a great blend of the classic model, newer visual and your own artistic flourishes!

Once again a well painted figure that is made into a full scale spectacle with the great display style base. Great work once again!

As much as I like Sauron that base is something else, looks like it has come right out of the film.

Love it, and yes, the base is great! What did you use for the vines?

I dried a load of small twigs out in winter last year. once they are dry you can pull them apart and twist them into some pretty cool shapes. I'll be doing the same this winter.

Cheers guys :-)

I really like the subtle light the candle casts on the wall 8)
