Fantastic work on the Easterlings. I like the 'dark feel' though I see what you mean about the cloth. The gemstones in the shields are a great touch, the fletch on the arrows really stands out to me (it creates a nice contrast to the overall darkness of the models), and the bases are awesome - suggests marching over a drying lake bed in some arid wasteland.

I mentioned it on FB but it is worth repeating here, as most know I love me some Easterlings and these are some fine examples. I prefer the darker schemes as it suits their feel and what we saw in the movies (limited though it was). Really can't wait to see what's next :)

Great job on the easterlings but I'm not sold on the way invisible Gollum turned out... I can clearly see him there. :P

Lovely scheme on the Easterlings. Shame that it had to be another gold paint commission! Haha.

Breaking it up a little by painting some single mini jobs inbetween so not so bad.

Those Easterlings sure are nice. I think a a slightly brighter highlight on the cloth and gold wouldn't be out of line, you could still keep them dark but have a brighter hint on the extreme edges. I guess it's all up to the customer though! They look amazing as is. 8)

That Gollum is sick man. You sure are lucky! :)

I got a whole invisible Fellowship. I would post pics but taking photos of them is a problem...

Hi all,

Time for another update. Champions of Erebor again this time Dori, Oin, Gloin & Bifur. Tried a different approach with these guys and attempted to complete each model inside 3 hours from start to finish bases included.
Dori , Gloin and Bifur I managed to do this but Oin took just over 4 hours.

Reasonably happy with the results and client gave the thumbs up so all good.

There are more pictures on the Shadow & Flame website. I have finally managed to add a comments section under each blog post on the website (who'd have thought it would be so hard lol) so stop by and leave us a comment on there :-)

Nice speed painting. I found it a novel approach and really tunes you in to getting quick results.
Army painter strong tone was a blessing.

We like them. They have a very nice clean, efficient look. Simple and not ostentatious, but very beautifully done. Speed painting can detract from quality, but yours are top notch, just more efficient. 8)

Absolutely fantastic! Amazing miniatures these, wouldn't mind getting some myself at some point. Super clear detail that you have really brought to life.
Oin is my favourite of the bunch if I was really forced to choose!

I'd love to have the speed to bosh out something of this quality in 3 hours!

Surely the line on Invisible Gollum should be 'Nothing to see here.'
The dwarves look great - another Fantastic Four.
