Hello everyone,

Here's my WIP thread. I'm mainly WOTR so I building large scales army. I'm not a pro painter, though I can be quite good if I take the time to. Most of the models are quickly painted, to a "tabletop standard", which means I'm doing it quite fast so I can gather massive armies.

I have, in WOTR points system :
1) 3K+ Rohan + Galadhrim allies army (80% painted, that's what I'm working on right now)
2) 3K+ Isengard army (80% painted)
3) 3k+ Mordor + Eastern Kingdoms allies army (95% painted)
4) 1.2k Gondor army (90% painted)

It's my first WIP thread, so first I'll post pictures of the work I have completed recently, and then I'll show you what I'm up to. I'm actually struggling to complete my Rohan army!

The defenders of Helm's Deep!

Bring it on uruks!

Image
Archers, fire at will!

Image
Eomer and a banner of which I'm pretty proud! (also seen on first picture)

Image
The king of Rohan and a hornblower

Image
Galadhrim archers (these are not my work, except Legolas!)

Image
Aragorn, Gimli and more elven warriors (galadhrims are not my work)

Image
Rohan commanders and some of my rohan warriors!

And now, what's left to paint :

Image
Galadhrim warriors

Image
The King's guards, with Gamling (royal banner) and Hamà

Some banners

Eowyn and Grimbold

Give me your thoughts, I'll update it soon when these models will be painted. After that, I'll complete my cavalry force!

I really like Théoden. I think the rohan warriors could use with an anti-sheen spray. Maybe a wash and a drybrushing of hair and robe edges. Always fun to do some touchups on models when you can't afford new ones.

Thanks for your comment! By anti-sheen spray, you mean just like a matte varnish? And yeah I totally agree with you for drybrushing and wash, but it's gonna be the final touchup as I still have many models to paint for my other armies too!

Apparently, there's some kind of spray you can use to take the shine out of the varnish. I don't use it as my models don't travel outside the display case often, so ask at your Friendly Local Game Store.

I use Vallego Matt varnish, excellent stuff. Army painter spray varnish is just as good you just need to spray very thin coats. Check my blog for Army painter review.

Looks really nice. Especially with helms deep. Do you use this as a method of displaying your models when you're not playing with them?
Like the face on theoden alot!

Hey thanks for comments everyone! It's my first time taking pictures of my models, but I thought Helm's Deep would be a perfect display as I was showing galadhrims and rohan warriors! I'm actually not doing any terrain (not yet, I'll start after painting all my armies), but I think it's way more amusing to display models on terrain! Theoden is eye catching, I guess that's what happen when my models are painted with different levels, but I have to admit I'm not spending that much time on a single miniature anymore!
