Fantastic, those are some of my favourite models in the range and you've more than done them justice!

Awesome! I just got those guys and am planning to painting them similar to the Knights of Rivendell. Thanks for the inspiration!

I own these and never opened the blister to look at them... they are some ugly, fat nosed, large handed, weirdo's eh? Not that the monkey versions are great alternatives. :)

The paint work is great, like the horse blanket design, the chestnut color on the horses works well to keep everything warm. Great job.

Could use a dozen gems or so.

^This lol

Spot on buddy, they are definitely strange sculpts indeed. There are a few gemstones in there :)

Great comments guys. Much appreciated.

Were gonna need to call up Dr. phil or Jerry Springer. Elronds been creepin.

Anyway DMS beautiful work as always. When I saw your topic title I got excited I love these models. Just so damned expensive for two ill rarely use in game or Id already have them myself.

Was the color scheme selected by the comission customer? I love those patterns on elves compared to the bright gold and silver.

Yep the client specified the colour scheme very exactly. He has kept the same scheme throughout the entire army commission. I have to admit that i didn't like it so much at the beginning but now that i am down to the last batch of 16 spears its kinda grown on me.

Same client has now commissioned a number of other huge armies, next one is to be easterlings (great lol.. more gold paint!) lots to come before them.

Cheers for the comments guys.

Is this the same guy as those knights of rivendell a while back? I loved those too. From my perspective though with design in a house, my clothes, painting etc I like browns black greys reds sometimes orangish and im not a huge fan of green yellow purple side of the spectrum so I like this guys ideas.

Wow that dude must be the ceo of a corporation to afford that and also, not have the time to paint hahaa. Nice work though. Im sure when youre finished that zrmy standing on a table somewhere would be nice.

Would be cool if the dude sent some pictures of it all laid out.

P.s.- the Hawks star player is out 12 weeks with a broken clavicle.....hes going to show up rusth just in time for the playoffs lol. Pure awesome.....

I'm thinking of taking the army to a professional photographer along with the movement trays and seeing if they can take some decent pictures for me, its been a lot of work and some nice pics would be great.

Those pictures would be amazing and a nice cover for any shadow and flame/blog/commission pages. And just look badass.

And yeah they will be fine. Just. Pain. Hopefully this will make the rest of them pull their heads outta their.....clouds......and play harder.

Gotta love job security though! :P

I agree it would be sick to get some high quality pics of them all together. The amount of time you've put into them would warrant it.

Fantastic painting and basing as ever.
The faces on these are quite weak when compared to the strong resemblance to the actors that was managed with many of the FotR, TTT and RotK minis. As you say, they are not really human or elvish (I wonder did someone stumble on a few orcy heads and stick them on?)

I think they must have been sculpted in summer, in the middle of a field of cut grass and hay by a sculptor who suffers from the worst case of hay fever in recorded history.

Faces are awful to paint.

Well you've summed up the sculpts nicely there but the paint work and basing are exceptional (though I still wouldn't touch them with a barge pole).

I think the colour scheme you have used on E and E is really spectacular. Suits these models to a T. Pity about the squashed faces - seems they have been chasing too many parked cars.

Finally I can move out of Rivendell. Its been a long road I can tell you lol.

Finished up on the project today with 16 spears, a UKFB converted horn blower and another command group.

I decided to paint up a horn blower for my personal collection alongside this batch. Really fantastic conversion job this one by Dave and a real joy to paint.
I've added the model to my cool mini or not gallery as my next attempt to get in the CMON 2015 annual. If you would like to regsiter a vote you can CLICK HERE
I appreciate the continued support :-)

I took a couple of pics of the completed army while i was checking numbers for the client. (all present and correct thankfully lol) The army is going to a professional photographer to have some better pics taken for the website. These two pics give you an insight into the nightmare that is gold lines. Hope you like them.

Thanks for looking.
