What a beautiful shade of blue.

I really like this color scheme. I'm going for colors similar to that of drawings and sketches of fingolfin from the first age.

Indeed a ice colour scheme. That blending on the blade is first class, good job.

The good:

The metals are perfect. Both the armour and blade.

The colour scheme is great.

The bad:

The cape is shouting for more contrast! Mix the blue tone with a dark brown for the shadows, It will give it a very deep shadow.

And also push the highlight on the edges with something like ice blue.

@argish, I knew someone would say something about that

-i really need to get a good photo taking setup. The shading is definitely much darker in person, the camera and the angle of the light I guess decided to brighten everything up, especially the cloak

Wonderful. I particularly like the subtlety of the highlights on the armour across the chest when looking at it from the front. I always find it slightly tricky to highlight silver/metal colours effectively.

I'm having a read through of Silmarillion again (Lost count how many times now) and this scheme definitely makes me think of Fingolfin's host crossing the ice. Very beautiful.

Love them! They really look awesome with the shields and the bases. Did you paint the gems on the shields? Can't appreciate that exactly on the photo, would like to see If possible.

Do you plan to make a big army or just some more elves like this?

Also what's with Fingolfin are you going to use some conversion?

yeah, I painted those gems on the shields, i'll try and get a better picture. It was my first time painting gems though so maybe i'll wait for the picture until I get the technique down better .

I do want to make a war of the ring army including proxies for fingolfin's elves, and his son turgon's elves from gondolin. I'm planning on using the current high elves from rivendell as proxies for fingolfin's part of his army. Then i'm going to switch over to all of the galadhrim I have and come with a color scheme for Turgon's army.

I'll probably expand from that too haha

for fingolfin, I'm searching for a good proxy for him. I ordered this guy from dsm.

I might do golden armor for another faction of elves though, just to spice things up
