Update time, more of the skin tone completed and also a little more work on the face, still not quite happy with it yet but it is getting there.

I love the skin colour - I'm trying to think of a LOTR miniature I could use this on :)

I haven't managed to get the lighting set up right tonight. Next I'll glaze the skin area, and then the hands and feet which I am going to do a different colour to the rest of the skin.

Is it just me, or is the belly rougher than the legs and face? It's not the highlighting that's rough, I would almost say it's the texture...Like too thick paint or something? :?
Anyways, other than that miner quibble all is looking superb.

I know what you mean, it is the model itself, the sculptor has sculpted striations into the belly and in fact all over the model that are showing up when painted. I have another one of these in a different pose and will take a photo to show you. Personally I wish sculptors wouldn't do that.

Okay, so those are wrinkles that were sculpted into the belly. I get it now. :)

I sense another masterpiece in the making. Keep up the fabulous work! The big guy makes me think of how I imagined Bilbo's trolls many many moons ago (pre Digital times...)

The Twisted Tales range from the Hoffmeister is a great little range, I bought some of these awhile back and just got around to painting my first one. I will say that this has proved that I need to go for an eye test as I did struggle in places though I am really pleased with the end result. I found that I was not seeing the end of the brush against the mini when applying some of the colours so there was alot of redoing bits here and there. Anyway here he is hope you like him.

I thoroughly recommend this sideline and it won't be too long before I paint another one.

Cheers for looking.

That's a great little mini, I'll be looking into this range in the future by the looks of things. Great painting as always too Tim. The metallics are definitely up to your usual standard of fantastic.

I think it's one of those many figures I would think I'd never buy it, untill I see it now painted to a quality like your standard!
Nice one again Tim!

How's the troll coming along?

I couldn't find anything of the manufactor or the range on google though... Any chance you could share a link? I'd like to see what else they have...

Hi all here is a quick pj from me between Dwarves. I ran out of black spray undercoat and so as all I had left was some white I decided to spray up this little fella and paint him up which gave me a nice little job to do until I culd get down town and pick up some more black.

And here is a shot with him next to a 5p coin for anyone that doesn't know just how small he is.

Hope you like it, and thanks for looking.
