Very nice troll with so,e nice colour transitions.
I think you could go a touch lighter on the chest and the top of his pot belly. Apply your paint thin and don't let it pool on the figure.

Thanks for the feedback. I will do as you suggest. Are you saying I am applying my paint to thick and letting it pool? More info appreciated.

I agree with the house needing something horse-y. I was thinking of mounting a Roman shield on the wall. The one with the horse head on it. Will see what it looks like and take a photo.

Your paints are maybe a little thick from what I can see. You want a milk consistency. There are no signs of pooling but when you start thinning paints it can be a problem, just wipe the excess on a piece of kitchen roll before applying to the figure.

Yes I could certainly thin my paints more. Thanks for the advice.

Thought I should do an update. I'm really enjoying being part of the forum. I'm striving to paint much better as a result although those effots are not shown in the work I am about to post as this is older work done late last year for the most part.

Finished the army of the dead component of my War of the Ring army.

And this is where I am at with my Isenguard army

Image

Taking photos really highlights the short comings!! Before joining this forum I never took photos of my miniatures.

Image

Saurman and grima really need some eyes... Hadn't noticed until taking a photo how terrible they look!

Image

The beserkers really need their groin cloth painted...

Image

The superglue where the arrow heads enter the armour is very unsightly!!

Next update will be when I photograph the two avenger bolt throwers and wild wargs I finished a while back.

Hope you all enjoy. I must go and touch up my mistakes now.

Your painting is looking good with the berserkers looking the best for me, very nice bloody looking colours.
Saruman an looks like the paint was a little thick so make sure you water it down.
The troll is also good and a few bright highlights on the edges of the armour will help.
