I don't know how I've missed this thread but there is some serious eye candy in here, excellent stuff.

Nice simplified color scheme. Ties the force in using such a limited color pallet. Well done. I do wish I had got more serpent guard foot, I have 10 mounted, but the foot versions are awesome.

I really do love the painting on these.

I've got some unpainted serpent guard cavalry and it makes me want to paint them now!

I hope there is more to come!

Very well painted, and they do all fit strongly into the same theme.
The only thing about the guy in the chair lift is, well, he is a bit of an arrow-magnet, if you see what I mean.

i really love the taskmaster conversion.
brilliant execution, just gave me an excuse to, maybe, try something similar too.
Also, the colours on the Golden King are very well suited.
Suddenly, I'm not thrilled, with mine's. The bad thing is, it's a WiP and I wouldn't like to go back to the beginning.
ooh well...
Well done!!!

You flatter me too much, Gandlaf :)

You are probably right, but that's a risk I am willing to take. He looks too good and he has quite a few wounds and faith points as well :)

I am personally happy especially with the bases. I am sure I will add some skulls to other Harad bases as well (and Mordor bases in the future).

The simple red colour scheme is based on Tolkien's description of the dead Haradrim killed by Faramir's rangers in Ithilien. This is a picture from the last battle between my Haradrim and my dwarfs, which I lend to my friend for introduction game to Lotr. I think they look quite distinctive on the battlefield.

I agree, the trees look great. They are really hand made, yet not by me, but by guys from my local gaming club. I am sorry I cannot give you any tutorial.

Awesome stuff! I'm definitely going to be using your stuff as inspiration when I get around to my Haradrim.

OK...

My girlfriend loves hobbits, so I'd decided to paint the first member of my small army of the Shire. I wanted to test green colour for clothing as well as the bases scheme. For the first time, I used an excellent set of flowering tufts I bought just recently. I think the flowers make the model look really Shire-like. What do you think?

Love the Monty Python reference and yes, the flowers turned out wonderfully!

Nice work mate. The flowers are great as does the painting. I think a few highlights on the highest points will help this figure stand out.

Thanks for the feedback :)

Exactly! I love that idea :)

Somebody suggested me to use pumpkins and other plants on the hobbit bases, but I have no idea about any company doing stuff like that. I would be happy if you could give me any advice.

Try Noch, they do paper plants that are actually quiet good. They are laser cut and you can touch up with paint if you wish.
Search for Noch laser cut.

The flowers I used are actually also made by Noch :-D Thanks for the tip, I'll certainly visit their website.

To stay true to the title of my WIP blog, I present you once again something completely different :) This time a dwarf ballista! I know it's not really competitive in LOTR SBG, but I like the model and was lucky enough to get the metal version. I guess it could be useful at least for siege scenarios. Pictures were made in poor light, sorry about that.

Great ballista, it may just be the photo but some parts like the wood on the ballista and cloth on the dwarfs look a little flat? Perhaps another highlight or 2? I love your hobbit archer he looks awesome! Nice touch with the flowers.
