Hi all

I am trying to recover my old painting habits and skills, but I keep coming across two problems - the first is lack of light, the second involves paint drying too fast. The second problem is a bit related to the first, since the heat from the lamps dries the paint faster. Also, I've sort of gotten lazy about using Vallejo paints, largely because I've been painting a lot of plastics. (Vallejos don't do plastics as well).

Anyway, I read here to buy a "daylight" bulb for my lamp. I have two lamps to illuminate the space. The problem is, I can't figure out how and where to aim the light so I can properly see what I am doing.

Has anyone come up with a good starting point for this?

It has daylight bulbs and lights my work area brilliantly.I literally pull the arm across so it is overhead for me.
The bulbs give off virtually no heat so the painting drying is not a problem.
I also tend to use a glaze medium with my paints which extends their working life/

A wet palette is the best way to extend the drying time of your paints. I use a plastic food tray (cleaned obviously), a large flat kitchen sponge soaked in water and a piece of baking paper. This keeps my paint wet for hours,

Rapidly drying paint is the bane of my hobby. It makes it really difficult to mix paints, I find.
