This is awesome and inspiring! Truly great 8)

Tell me, what are planning to do with the base? I'm most intrigued.

I'm off to buy my own now, your work has inspired me :-D

Thanks.

I have not decided yet what to do with the base. However I am planning to do a base that does not distract from the miniature.

Shield, sword and horn are next. While I see much room for improvement I think I am not touching the rest anymore. I think it's ok for what I wanted to achieve and given it's my first miniature of such size.

I am not really happy with the photos. I need to try another photo setup because the contrast is too weak.

Whatever you may think, this really is a stunning piece that you have painted incredibly well. It has been worth ever bit of effort you have put in and has clearly made you a better painter for the experience.

I love this, I fact you have inspired me to get one at this scale. Unfortunately it may be a while before I get it, but get one I definitely will.

You've done a spectacular job! :yay: :yay: I have the exact same mini, but have been too scared to put a brush to it. Your WIP has inspired me to try. I understand the difficulty it is going to pose, as it is so heavy. I also put the whole thing together, which was a mistake like you said. I'm going to have to remove the hand with the sword at the very least before I start. Still need to green stuff some gaps. There were quite a few in key places.

The end result of your work is simply stunning. I will be happy if mine turns out half as good as yours.

I finished the sword, my first attempt at nmm (took quite some time), and started the base:

When everything is finished I will do a cleanup and correct the small mistakes etc.

Wonderful looking sword and very impressive NMM. I'm not sure about the dark shading in the middle, do you think it needs to wider I.e. Stretched toward the hilt and tip of the sword ?
You could go a touch darker, I believe.
I'm liking the base and have an idea where you are going with it, very simple, yet perfectly eye catching.

Thanks, wich shading you mean exactly?

It looks a bit brighter on the photo than in reality, however I agree I could go darker. However it was quite hard to even get where I am right now, so I'm a bit scared to touch it again. The contrast goes from pure white to pure black and without strong contrast it doesn't work. I was about to give up on it two times! Definitly learned something.
