Darn! :-X if I hadn't finished painting my Sauron and fallen Isildur and Elendil two nights ago I would be all for this. I've always wanted to do a last alliance scene at the foot of mount doom. Another time perhaps.

It's probably for the best with university starting again soon :) all the same, I will be following this closely !

Hey warrior, I got a tip for making lake town. Thomarillion produces nice lake town buildings and docks.

Hey,

Thanks for the tip I already had that in mind it looks really good only needs a bit more of cheerfull colouring. I was wondering if it ships to the Netherlands.

They do. ;) And the shipping is pretty fast, very reasonably priced and the service is great! I can thoroughly recommend them.

Great, so pleased this has finally started, well done Mally brilliant idea.

I have several ideas swamping around my head, so will post at a later date my entry.

I think it would a good idea to keep the thread "alive" of people post a lot of wip pictures.

Thanks Paul.
I think it's a good idea to post some progress shots along the way to keep interest in the thread. You would have to be careful by giving small photos of certain areas so to keep you final piece for the big unveiling.
Good luck to all who enter.

Great that is awesome news to hear although I will wait if GW would perhaps release some Lake Town scenery.

I plan to enter the battle between the necromancer and Gandalf from DOS. If I do not have a picture of Gandalf completely unpainted but rather halfway there is that ok?

I am incredibly excited to both participate in this project and see fellow hobbyists' inevitably gorgeous works.

I will be creating the Gate of Erebor.

This sounds interesting. O_O I'm picturing a dark atmosphere and all kinds of magics flying around. Very eager to see this!

I'm most definitely joining, but I won't be able to begin working on it until the end of March (I'm at Uni right now, and my models are all at home. Also gives me a bit of time to make good plans!). Is that okay?

I think I might try my hand at the encounter between Radagast and the wraith in Dol Guldur. Unfortunately, the Twilight wraith is OOP so I might just have to use a barrow wight. And I only have the old LOTR Radagast in my collection, so I'll have to use him too.

Also, do the models have to be attached to the Diorama? Because I kinda want to use them again in my battles once I'm done :)

The models do not have to be attatched to the diorama no.
