Looks very impressive, I like the overall look and feel a lot! For the transition from long to short grass, how about using the same color static grass but with shorter length for the mowed lawn (with some longer grass clumps thrown in as well)?
I will update a photo soon, but I've used the same long grass over the lawned area and cut it down / applied it less sporadic. Hopefully that will seem better.

It all looks great, yet something about the long grass still bothers me. I don't really know what it is though.. maybe the length or the "messiness"... It just doesnt look as natural as the rest of you bag end somehow..
This has given me food for thought. Perhaps once everything is in place it will give the look I'm after and everything will fit together. The small mound near the path isn't finished, though it virtually is. I am waiting for some clumps of weeds and more flowers to be delivered, which will go on both sides of the path. A little trim here and there with the long grass will still be needed in this area.
Charlie - Net foliage ? Do you mean something like ivy ? I have some ivy on order that I will apply in small areas.

I really love the attention to detail like the drainage stones! It's looking like a professional museum type display piece.
Looking forward to seeing the plants go in.
Is that a home brew kit in the background?
Well spotted Paul. Thats a cheeky 5 gallons of Blackberry wine. I've been so busy of late that I haven't had chance to make much. This has been sat there for a month waiting for a final polish.
