Eriol.
Mine seems to be very similar, a little gritty and thick. Its much more like the old Citadel Inks than the newer washes so I havn't used it for much.

If you check you will find it is the old ink.The link I posted earlier explains how to deal with using it. The best tip I can give is don't paint from the bottle.

Thanks for pointing to the links Oldman Willow; very interesting. I'll play about with some acrylic media.

As with paint generally, I'm finding that inking is all a matter of getting the mix right (i'm very much rediscovering this hobby).

For instance, I'm doing the goblin town goblins in the official colour scheme and, on reapplying the fleshtone after the crimson inkwash, I can see that the inking is too heavy and I might have to 'paint wash' with the fleshtone to soften the contrast.

Can't find that Pledge Klear stuff though. My supermarket sells a yellow clear liquid which i'm not keen to try. I'll keep trying with the "artists" media, though with heavy irony :)
