@Rognarr. Yeah, I'll do a tutorial. Anything in particular you want a tutorial on or is it just the whole model?

Dunno, the hair, the face, the eye, teh rusty metal.... there's so much about the model that I like that a complete tut would be best? ^^

Thanks everybody.
Lovely forum this.

I'll start some scouts later on and see how they go. Aiming for quick but smooth looking finish.

Please excuse the hurried photo's.
First 4 scouts. Took just over 3 hours from basecoat to finished base with the help of a hairdryer. Basecoat, wash and single highlight on everything but the skin which gets two highlights.

Lovely models these. Much more defined than the plastic uruk warriors.

Once again FANTASTIC painting! Personally I'm not a big fan of snakebite leatherish leather, just because it doesnt look like leather. You've done a great job here nonetheless and I do love those minis (even snakebite can't change that! ^^)

It's the smoothness and brightness of the colour that makes these stand out a mile, brilliant.

Keep up the good work. If you ask me you've got a near "eavy metal" army here

Ringsified - a great new word!
The Snakebite Leather scouts are exquisite - they will stand out from the crowd.

@Rognarr. Cheers. I agree that Snakebite leather doesn't really look like leather. More like Chamois leather if anything but it's quick and neat so I'm cool with that.

@Gunslinger. It's really basic. For the browns it's either:
VGC Leather Brown, wash AP Dark Tone Ink, highlight sparingly with Leather Brown.
And for the jackets:
VMC English Uniform, wash AP Dark Tone ink, highlight sparingly with English Uniform.

If you want to take either of those colours further, adding a cream into the basecolour for highlights would work.

@Dorthonion. Yeah, it's quite a good word now I think about it! Cheers mate.

It wasn't until I saw one of your minis on the GW blog that I realised I hadn't commented on this thread - I love everything in here, this is probably my favourite of any Isengard army I've ever seen.

e; I can't believe the results you get with just base, wash and single highlight. I'd love to see some WIP shots of some of these guys, if you have the time.

Every miniature it this thread is painted to a phenomenal standard. It's some of the best work I've seen on this forum (which is really saying something considering the high standard set by everyone) and you're painting style has inspired me, it's simple but clean, realistic and sets your models out from the hordes of Uruks. I don't even have any Uruk-Hai to paint but I would love a tutorial from you (from start to finish with pics) on how to paint one as I guess the techniques are transferable to many other models. I know that's a fairly labour intensive task to ask from you but honestly it would be fantastic! Keep up the excellent work!

Thanks very much for the kind comments everybody.
@Raukov. I'll get a few shots up this week when I do some more scouts mate.
@Domyhill. I don't mind doing a tutorial mate. Next time I have some painting time I'll do one for the scouts. It's only 3 stages of painting not including priming and basing so it's no trouble really.

OK, I haven't had any time to paint much since my last picture was taken and in a toss up between batch painting my scouts and Sharku....Sharku won.
Obviously not painted in the same skin tone as in the film (which would have made him look too much like an Uruk-Hai I think) but he ties in with the rank-and-file warg riders better with this colour skin.
Thanks for looking and thanks again for all your comments.
Did I say this was a lovely forum? Oh yeah.....I did :P

Wow, I didn't even know it was possible for Sharku to look that good, you have blown my rather tired mind.

:yay: :yay:
