I'm painting some Warriors of Dale and I want their spears and bows to be a very light wood like these: Image

Can anyone suggest a painting guide?

Looks like snakebite leather basecoat - add increasing amount of bleached bone to snkebite leather for successive highlights until bleached bone on its own - add a little water to your paint to keep the transition between shades smooth.

The under-layer isn't as dark or as warm as the old snakebite, I don't think. I'd start out with steel legion drab and layer it up from there by adding bone. You can always darken it in places with a wash if you need to.
