Here's the finished warband. I think they look pretty good for a few evening's work!

Hi guys. Here's an early wip from today:

I've had these elves since release and they've remained unpainted until now because quite frankly they must be the worst minis in the lotr range. These days I like a challange and getting any definition on the faces is very much a challange.

very clever painting MMS - agreed they are the worst sculpts in the range the faces are really awful to get any sort of definition into - you seem to have managed this effortlessly. awesome!!!

I wish it was effortless. :(

Nah, it was almost fun in a way. With so little detail it's not possible to take short cuts and I had to actually think about what I was doing.

Your use of colour is perfect, i must admit to putting the Wood Elves to the back of my stash. When i do paint them i will look at yours for inspiration my friend.

Wow very nice! I know how difficult these are to paint, so your result is astonishing! I really like this light blue colour scheme alot!

Fantastic painting MMS! The figures themselves aren't very good, but when you paint them they look so much better, it all just looks so good. :yay:

I always love wood elves even if their sculpts aren't fantastic. Your painting and especially the work on the base is amazing :yay:

Warriors of Rohan - stunning. Wood Elves - ethereal! You really do squeeze the last drop out of the basic sculpts! Very well done!

I've made another attempt at the armoured Rivendell elf colour scheme:

Image

I quite like this for the most part. The armour is a little boring being a simple grey metal with black wash. But I'm mindful of not over complicating things for rank and file.

The picture is a little dark, but it does look really good. Painting their faces, at least for me, are a nightmare, I think you did an excellent job though. :yay:
