What is the difference between their game colours and model colours?

Game color has two differences from model color 1) the number of colors available ( they pretty much imitate the last generation GW colors) 2) There is some type of additive that makes the paint more resistant to wear and tear than model color, also game color may be a bit more "creamy".

In the end those are the only real differences. I use both and find a wet pallet to be most useful due to the dropper bottle.

Nice thanks, so would you say it would be better to get Vallejo? I have read that they are good and they are obviously a lot cheaper.

They are certainly cheaper and I would say the same quality as old GW colours. The come in way better bottles, but they need a good shake and to be more dilluted than GW ones. Also they seem to be closer to the old GW range than the new Gw colours.

Model colour range, I haven't tried it myself, it is said it's even better quality but less resistant to wear. It's supposed to be aimed for display pieces if I'm not mistaken.

Got 12 bottles of Game Colour about X-mas, have tried half of them till now.
Reds are really nice to work with, wolf gray and shadow gray aswell.
Greens were pretty cool.
Flesh colours (I got dwarf skin/tan) I found a bit hard to work with.
Just couldn't get them to work like I wanted. Adding a bit of GW paint in them kinda solved my problem.

Vallejo has posted a FAQ about the differences of their ranges:

They say that the Game Colour has also a lower viscosity than Model Color, meaning it should be more flowing and better suited for smaller miniatures, but I haven't noticed any difference (although I sometimes claim there is, just to irritate my local hobby shop know-it-all guy).

Both Vallejo series mix well with GW paints.

Model colour, apart from having an amazing range of natural looking colours have incredible coverage. For the most part they are like the old foundation paints. Solid, streakless coverage over black or white primer.

I mentioned before on other threads, Vallejo metallic paints are brilliant, Old Gold in particular painted on a light brown undercoat works really well.

Also Vallejo airbrush paints and primers are the best i have come across
