What is the alternative name (I mean the one he has in some manuscripts, but not in the eventual version) of Celeborn/Galadriel's husband?

I'll be on holiday for a week starting tomorrow, so bear with me please.

That's it!

Sorry for the wait, I'm still learning the difference between "read sticky" and "unread sticky" post icons.

My question then ...

In the FOTR movie - what is the term used to describe the class of waterwheel used by the Mill at Bywater ?

A bit of research helps - as a bit of a clue there are generally three distinct types depending upon how the water impacts the wheel.Which one did they use in the film.

Ok, had to go to Wikipedia and Youtube for this...
(was actually very interesting, so thank you!)

It's a vertical-wheel overshot water wheel.
Image

With overshot wheels, the water has to hit the wheel from above, but actually, it's not clear where the water is coming from in the movie, since the river is lower than the wheel!

Ok then. A straightforward one.

She is variously the daughter, the wife, the mother, and the mother-in-law of several major characters appearing in the LOTR movies, but is never seen or even mentioned onscreen. What is her name?

Not who I had in mind. Neither of her parents or her husband were a major character in the LOTR movies (although her son certainly was).

That's what I thought, but it was one of the first that popped into my head.

My next guess would be Finduilas, but her parents were never really mentioned. She was however the wife of Denethor, the mother of Boromir and Faramir and the (late) mother-in-law of Eowyn.

Pffft, think I got it, Celebrian. Daughter of Galardiel and Celeborn, wife of Elrond, mother of Arwen, Elladan and Elrohir and mother-in-law of Aragorn.

Bang on the money! Celebrian. I always think of her as the missing elf, since all her immediate family are such major figures in Middle-earth.

Your turn.

Duilin and Derufin, both were trampled/otherwise killed as they led their troops close to aim at the eyes.
