750 points Galadhrim w/ allies

Hey there am trying to find an army at 750 points, then break it down into smaller points limit's to sort out my painting backlog into necessities first.

Any C&C most welcome...

Warband 1 - Eregion & Lothlorien - 165 points
Haldir, Defender of Helms Deep
Galadhrim warriors w/shield x 5
Galadhrim warriors w/spear x 5

Warband 2 - Eregion & Lothlorien - 155 points
Galadhrim Captain
Galadhrim warriors w/shield x 5
Galadhrim warriors w/spear x 5

Warband 3 - Eregion & Lothlorien - 190 points
Legolas
Galadhrim warriors w/elf bow x 10

Warband 4 - Radagasts Alliance - 240 points
Radagast the Brown
Great Eagle

35 Models
750 Points Exactly

I know i am light on elven blades but do not have any models with them, i think with spear support and extra defence i may be able to cancel out the lack of elven blades.

Swap the galadhrim captain for Rumil. Same points but you get his infamous spec rule and an extra might point.

Yeah that is the plan as soon as i purchase him mate, him and celeborn are on my "to get" list. Plus i need a mounted captain to lead my knights at some point.

In warband 3, change the galadhrim with bows to WEW with bow. 1 point less per model and since they are probably only going to get shot at ( str 3 and 4) defence 3 is as good as defence 4.
For that extra point you can get WE spear on all of them and if they get charged you just keep them busy with shielding or kill them if you can

Sorry but theme rules over here. The only thing that lets me down is Legolas isn't armoured. If anyone has an armoured Legolas please let me know.

ok, sry. You didnt say that the theme was really important so I just wanted to help you build a more competetive list

No it's fine mate, obviously i want it to be competitive but i also like the look of a themed army.

What is Eregion & Lothlorien? A list with Legolas and Elrond together?

That list looks pretty strong considering your sticking more to theme than competitive. You have enough bows, you have shields which are better than e;ven blades mostly, and you are decent enough overall. Nice one.

You could do a straight head swap with a Galadhrim warrior, or you could wait for a model to be released with the hobbit.

Armoured wood elves are going to be released (Thranduil and his guys from the Hobbit) and I have also heard that a new Legolas model will be released, so I am just presuming that he will fit in with the others and be armoured too...

Let's hope the armour matches the galadhrim from LOTR and they don't go along a different route :-)

Watch the prologue again carefully, then you know what the armour looks like.

could you not use the version of legolas from the HoHD set? he has the armoured plates he wears in the film on.

Just to throw my two pennies in, that Legolas can now also be found in the FineCast Fellowship set.

As for the list, I like the look of it. Let us know how it plays out
