I plan to paint an entire crew (i.e a box worth) of Corsairs of Umbar, as well as the two characters that are available. So far I'm about a third of the way done!

Check out the entire gallery of the figures here:

Here are some pics:

Looks good, the only thing is the grass on the base looks too neat. But other than that incredible job!

Those are awesome (like all the stuff on your site). I saw those last night and decided to spring for a Ziterdes corsair for my Umbar buccaneer.

Quite inspiring!

How on earth do you guys get your faces so neat? for instance the eyes, even the fine detail brush from GW isn't small enough to do that?

What brush you use, if it is GW's fine detail then how you get it so neat?

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys, I appreciate it! I look forward to seeing more corsair projects out there from you guys in the future ;) That is of course if you can keep yourself from being distracted by all the Hobbit figs that are coming out...

As for eyes, goblin_king had it right: practice, practice, practice! You actually don't need a tiny brush to do eyes either. All you need is a brush with a good point/tip. Put the white on, then put a tiny dot of black with the very tip of the brush. The key to doing the black dot is to make sure that it isn't floating in the eye, but touching both the top and bottom edges.

Hope that helps!

Great to see you do this revolutionary, I've always been a fan of your projects. Finally you have some Corsairs to guard Umbar, or to sail that lovely ship of yours!

I can't believe how much detail you have put into such small figures. Amazing work.
