I prefer the silver paint scheme, just seems to fit the Elves better in my eyes.

The painting is really lovely, but as you said yourself, the conversion is a little bit "wooden". I'm sure folk like UKFB or Natarn can give advice on how to get it perfect, but I myself am not up to that level (yet, I hope).

Great looking painting schemes. I prefer them both, maybe you can use them both for different unit types: the gold for the archers and the silver for the spear- and swordsmen.
