G'day everyone, long time no see!
Been more than a month since my last update, just been too busy with work and uni stuff. Anyway, I've got a bit more time now, so I thought I'd get my backside into gear and start some more projects... not to mention finish my painting backlog! Also, my clay shapers arrived recently and I've been trying to improve my sculpting...
I recently bought a bigger lot of minis on an auction site (which I somehow managed to resell for quite a profit, even after taking out and keeping the figures I wanted!) and I decided to start a smaller Gondor army for fun.
Here's my modded standard bearer; basically just gave him a Last Alliance Gondor shield for decoration and added a GS ork head to the tip of his standard for good measure:
Sticking with the theme of Gondor, I had a spare armoured Boromir lying around that I had been meaning to do sth with. I finally decided upon making him a 'what if...' piece: What if Boromir had survived Amon Hen and returned to captain Gondor's armies in the battle of Pelennor?
Basically, I extended his original cape with GS (was much more difficult than I thought it would be) and added a hood and broach - now he look like he's wearing his elven cloak over his battle armour. Really excited to see how he looks when he's painted! I do love me a good Boromir conversion...
But wait, there's more! a Weathertop Aragorn conversion! I removed his torch arm and crafted him a new one, so it looks like he's about to take a two-handed slash at some unlucky ork:
And finally a Christmas present for my elf-loving little sister: A mounted MoM Legolas conversion:
Phew! Comments and criticism are very much welcome, it's good to be back doing what I enjoy!
