Edit: Progress can be followed in my MacG LOTR Wips thread.

Some interesting Gandalfs on the way. Bart - beautifully based & painted, as always. Funny how so many people are opting for the Bridge of Khazad-dum version (a favorite of mine). It will be fascinating to compare these (especially the conversions).

Yeah, I chose the bridge of KD version too but that was only because it was the only one I had spare... I'm guessing a few people must have had him lying around as that was the sculpt that came with Battle Games in Middle Earth!

I got that sculpt from the Breaking of the Fellowship set. But that one's painted already. :) Hopefully I can start painting soon. I think I'll enter Gandalf on a horse.

UPDATE:
just a quick update on saruman:

I've finished the outer cloak and I'm pretty chuffed with the highlighting so far.

And this is a work in progress shot. This is the limit of my painting ability, I tried a more dynamic face but didn't quite do it, so it is rather bland. I am proud of the shading on the cloak, however. There are quite a few layers of grey!

Lovely, lots of respect for getting that model to look good. I had a really hard time painting mine, white robes over white undergarments on a white horse with a white staff. GAH!

MacGothmog, your Gandalf is amazing! Beautiful subtle highlighting. Really impressive. Wish I could paint like that!
