Hey guys, nice to see so many people already finished the challenge, and at such a high standard too.

Gothmog, those Black Numenoreans look excellent in the dark purple. Very jealous of you owning so many! Been trying to find some to buy, but people guard them preciously! Would love to see sharper pics to appreciate them better - the purple looks really dramatic. Trolls too.

Wah Wing, that's a neat Gondor scheme and it works unexpectedly well for those Knights. Love the sculpted cobblestone base too. Shame you have to zip off in the midst of such a promising entry, but Thailand is absolutely great. Enjoy!

Wow, what a colour scheme! Simple and effective. I really like it and I'm tempted to change my black and silver knights to red and white because those look just so awesome! Grand entry indeed, just make sure you show us how they end up when you finish them after your travels.

Only 9 out of 24 are actual Black numenoreans, including 3 entered into this challenge. If it looks official it will be. The WoMT and AotD ones are quite different if you look, they just have the same heads, shields and colour scheme.

I would do, but i'm now back at uni and don't have time, hence i rushed to finish everything early this month.

did you get the idea from the Gondor army at the back of the WotR rulebook? they look nigh identical

MMS, these are just beautiful. Very realistic appearance, but also very artistic. Love the turquoise tones, it works really well with the heavy weathering. Your basing is fantastic too - that's something I've only recently started paying more attention to. So impressive.

That is indeed where I got my inspiration! :-D

I hope I can paint all of my Gondor troops similar to that. :wink:

Thanks guys. I think I'm a lot more competitive than I realise as I seemingly raise my game whenever I see everyone else's excellent entries.

IsleStaggerholm - practice and have fun doing so. I've improved substantially since last year when I stopped playing videogames and tried to paint a couple of hours every night.

I've only recently paid more attention to my bases too - inspired in no small part by DMS's amazing work. Some cork sheets and milliput can go a long way to adding a little extra to your models.

the rules didnt say anything about good/evil or even a multirace warband

i.e. gimli leadding rohan and highelves - legal. =D

Nice orcs, Lord Hurin! The archers and the drummer are particularly well painted. Love the face of the unhelmeted archer; it's full of character.
