Here I was unsure of how to put this together as you'd have the wall be in the way and then a gap on top.
The I figured it out that you needed to turn the thing upside down! Go figure.





It fits!

I just might build the whole city but for now I'll just build the outer walls and gate.

I have more progress!

The first wall is finally put together so all that's left is to fill gaps and make stones somehow.






You can see there are many gaps in between these castellations. I'm not very good at cutting those angles when putting pieces together.





More progress on the Easterlings and one of the captains.

I've decided to change the colours slightly. The cape will be white with the shirt being darker. We'll see if it works.

Some might remember a project I started some time ago on scratch building Sauron.
Well, not much has happened there but small progress has been made. Oh well.

nice painting on those easterlings! dwarf looks good so far to. Curious for the sculpt! I had been thinking to start a melkor figure once... but i think i should come up with a good design for that one - and i think he would be a huge figure... i just like the scene where he battles that elf.

I thought it was the citadel part with the fountain e.t.c Close enough.

I look forward to seeing what you're going to do with the gate. In the film the gate itself has some intricate details and at least one small statue outside which offers potential for something unique looking.

Very nice looking army you have there...should be impressive looking on the battlefield when all painted up!

I was thinking of just making it out of wood like they did in the RotK Journeybook. But now that you mention it, I might have a go at the more intricate one! Wish me luck!



I had no idea of who Melkor was until today! I always assumed Sauron was the only Dark Lord! This changes everything! That would be an awesome sculpt if you ever did that!

Your Minas Tirith wall section looks great, those pointy bits at the top look exactly like they do in the film, add the seige tower and vwolar, very good

Awesome work so far WahWhing! I can't believe I haven't seen this yet. I've been so busy atm, I haven't had much time to keep an eye on the OR stuff. The Minas Tirith wall section is really coming on well so far, very nice. Nice to see you doing terrain too!

Thanks guys. I'm really proud of how the pointy things came out. It's a rather flimsy material so I was afraid they would break too easily.

And here is another small update!

For this month's Paint Challenge, I have entered with Boromir with the Banner of the White Tower, (or something to that effect ) with six Knights of Minas Tirith.



And some progress on one of the Knights.








And my dwarf warrior is finally finished being painted. Now, for the base...






And there it is for you guys. Not much but I'm really proud of both these models. The Dwarf's eyes came out fantastically since the sculpt made the eyes ridiculously hard to do and the red on the Knight came out so well! It looks pinkish in the pictures but in real life, it's nowhere near that colour.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed!

You don't have to be great to start. But you do have to start to be great.

Almost two months has gone by without an update! This cannot be!

Let's see what hasn't been uploaded yet...

It seems I haven't posted pictures of where my Knights of Minas Tirith warband has progressed to. Let's start with that then.











Lately I started working on some orcs as these were among the first models I bought and they've been sitting on the shelf unfinished. So here is the progress on them.








And some WIP's of Gandalf for the October Painting Challenge:






Refer to this page ( That's No Moon! ) for reason of colours and what I'm trying to achieve.

And now here are the finished pictures of Gandalf! All that's left is to build the diorama and wait for Gollum and his fishy to arrive.






This is my attempt at sculpting a bird. I then tried to paint it like a White-tail Finch but I didn't have any pictures for reference. My friend says it looks like a sparrow.







So that's where the hobby stands. I've been packing everything up to get ready for my two year stay in Russia so most of my models are in egg cartons and on shelves ( cavalry and monsters don't fit in the egg cartons very well ) so they are out of the way for my family and so my mom doesn't accidentally throw out my materials and tools etc.

Think I can finish a terrain set for the challenge before the 14th this month? We'll see how we do. Let me know what you think of everything.

Thanks for all the support from the entire One Ring community these past few years I've been on these forums. I will truly miss everything and everyone here. I wouldn't have progressed so much in this hobby without the aid found here. Thank you.
