They look great so far Shieldmaiden
I really like what you've done with their faces and they look very imposing on top of their rocks
Can't wait to see them finished
Wheee! They do look good don't they? I always like to have the most important heroes elevated slightly

Shieldmaiden, you've prompted me to dig out my High Elves! I had several unpainted spearmen and some more that have been easily stripped. How do you manage the plastics though? Stripping plastics in my experience is a long and nightmarish procedure compared to doing metals. Perhaps I'm just using the wrong stuff though?
Also, how would people feel about High Elves with a shield as their only wargear selection? Going through these, I've realized that I snipped some spears short and gave them regular hand weapons... Not sure how "cheeky" this is from a gaming perspective.
Fairy Power Spray. It's amazing, and doesn't corrode plastics at all. I have a thread about it in the miniature's help section with step by step instructions. What's more is it only takes ~ 1hr to strip a miniature.
As regards using Elves with Shields - it's a tactical option, but with the high cost of Elves you'd only really squeeze in one, maybe 2 extra models into 1000pts.

again, really really neat work Shieldmaiden.
The armour is just right and the faces are a really good colour.
on the first picture i thought elrond was doing some legolas style shield-surfing
brilliant
Haha! Shield surfing. Straight down the planes of Gorgoroth! Thanks Sid.

Shieldmaiden, that is sickly good. Gilgalads shield looks really, really brilliant.
Thanks Telchar. I tried out the stars but the area was too small for my skill level, so it's not much different to how it looks now.
I finished Elrond tonight and Gil-galad is getting there, but the light isn't good enough for photos.
