@Chris - cheers mate :D

Here's the bulk of the building pinned together. Might need to make a few small adjustments adding a cm on the arches. Again C&C's are welcome.

thanks guys - it's nice to have such a supportive community and your input is most appreciated

Now I have a quick question, should I leave an overlap on the roof?

Okay here's the update for today. It's starting to get very difficult and tricky with the lower roof. Trying to get it match up perfectly with the building and get the angle at the right degree's AND look okay is proving difficult. Turns out I'm low on pillars, so I'll have to cast a few extra. Since I added an extra cm on to the end of the arches means one pillar part will look a lot wider, and therefore have a bad look. I'll have to ponder of that one for a while.

it gets better and better :-) great terrain - is a corque tile good enough to glue on? Or does the glue make it curly? Just wondering - some time ago i had the idea of making little tile game boards but i didn't know to well what will happen if i add lots of glue on that.

cork tiles won't warp which is really handy. This means they're flexible and won't warp.

Very nice work, and strangle reminiscent of the house from Monster House imo.

This is brilliant, looks quite similar to the Minas Tirith buildings featured in the ROTK rules manual. Can't wait to see how it looks when finished.

Very great work indeed. 8)
Might I ask; Where did you get the cork tiles? Would you find them in any Hardware type store?

I bought mine from Decora, but they should be available in any decent sized hardware store. These were originally for the bathroom or something, and they can come in many different thicknesses. Try B&Q or homebase, as they would be likely to have some.

Not sue if they have those in the US but I'm sure I can find a suitably similar store somewhere. ;)

That is absolutely amazing building! Are you planing to glue everything together or give miniatures access to get inside the building?

hehe thanks. Both roofs have been glued down now so it's likely I won't bother. For a standard SBG battle I don't see myself using the inside unless it's a very special scenario anyway.

Thank you. ha yeah this post has been going for a while. I always chuck all my work into this great big thread and over time it grows - however I think garmenhord beats me on pages as he's a lot more active - well done garmen! :D The brick work is just carved into the foam with a pencil and arches have just been cut to size with a cork smaller arch adding depth. The whole thing is so far made out of foamboard (for walls), cork board (under arches)and balsa wood (for the pillars).

Nope, however I did consider making it out of hirst arts - but I'm glad I didn't. It's all foamboard and some balsa really. (however I cheated on the bottom pillars, they are hirst arts pillars :D )
