Cheers peeps, yep I'll get you an updated photo of the Osgiliath terrain. Thanks WahWing :D

I've almost finished the legolas, I'll get you a pic laters. At the moment though, I mounted the whole fellowship on fancy bases and I'll finish them off once I've done the rest of the fellowship. 4 down - 5 to go!

Right, I've chosen my next (small) terrain piece that I'm going to get a start on this week. It's based for Rohan, and should fit perfectly for a small outpost on a gaming table. I have a whole Rohan army that I mean to start on, so some terrain should kick start that. I won't stick to the picture exactly, as I'll probably ditch the wooden walkway because it'll take too much space and just be generally awkward for gaming. I'll try and get you an update soon, it's always good fun working in balsa wood!

Oh, oops.. . apparently I need a drink.

Note: I'll still get a pic of that Osgiliath stuff up, haven't taken a picture of it yet.

Yeah it is from Skyrim in the hold Whiterun which has very similar characteristics to Edoras. Here's part of the cliff base, might have some time to work on it later on. Sorry for all the junk, it was a quick photo.

I have acquired a large collection of Gondorian archers over the time, which always seem to be left unpainted. Therefore I got my brush out and had a go at two of them. Hopefully I'll get some more done soon.

maybe good to paint them in great numbers? I was doing my uruks one by one at first, but then i realised that it went much quicker in groups. But then again then again there is not much variation in the armoured uruks.

yep that's the idea. I have 2 exams left & then it's about 4 months holiday until university, so I'll get plenty done.

Because it was such a fabulous day I got all my archers primed and ready for paint. Here's my collection of 34, so 2 down 32 to go. I'll start doing them in batches getting the chainmail and armor done first. I'll keep you's all updated. 8)

@garmenhord: yep you got it.

Since I've recently been busy getting my Gondor army in shape, I've decided to make some terrain along with it. In fact I'll be making a diorama of a small section of Minas Tirith. It will be a two or three Gondorian houses up against the outer wall of Minas Tirith and I'm thinking of having a protruding battlement on the wall so that I can put my homemade trebuchet up there too - along with the archers when they are under siege by the orc's. I also got some work done on the trebuchet and got it base coated black followed by it's first brown coat. I think it needs one more coat, and then I'll start with distressing it and getting some highlights. I was thinking for on top of the wall I'll have some spears lined up and maybe an open fire caldron - can you think of any other idea's? One thing however that is quite time consuming is that I have to carve two pieces of foamboard to fit together so I achieve the thickness needed for the pillars. But otherwise thing's should be simple enough.

So far I've worked out the measurements of most of the building and have started with the exterior arches. I'm going to try and get lots of depth in this building so it doesn't just look flat and boring. So the plan is to have everything handmade in the diorama apart from the troops and pillars which are hirst arts (because they have pretty pillars and I partially couldn't be bothered making any). I've posted the picture of the plan that was on sketchup, which will go along with my weekly progress. I also got a head start on the archers getting 3 more done today with their first coat of chainmail on the amour.

Any idea's or helpful tips would be much appreciated. I'm hoping to make a guide on how to build this, but we'll see what happens. :D

These will be done in two separate pieces.
