If I were going to have a dream Eriador Faction it would be somewhere along these lines. It would include the already existing GW units of: Warriors of Arnor, Dunedain, Rangers of the North, Rangers of Arnor, Grey Comppany, Hobbit archers, militia, shirrifs, Numenorian Warriors and Warcry Trebuchet.

The rest I would get from perry miniatures assuming they're the same scale

Breeland Militia: F2/- S3 D4 A 1 W1 C2 Pts 5
Wargear: Hand weapon, spear, shield. May purchase light armour.

Eriador is a most rather timid faction in which the people aren't used to constant warfare. It is not a nation but a region with a collection of city states that must stand together when under attack.

Very nice minis, and I agree they would fit the region. Except for the Breeland militia...they look a bit fancy for militia, and especially for Bree.

I agree with whafrog. The breeland militia's shields, however, are the only point in which they are fancy. Therefore, if you could get them all with only one of the shields(I was thinking the "metz" on the very left) then it would be perfect.

I agree that the only problem I have with them are their shields. They also have these guys: unarmoured spearmen, but even though the shields are great they look too puny.

Perhaps it can be a choice, the above is basic and you can have light armour added for 1 point each.

Those guys look great! I think it's suitable they're unarmoured, but have the upgrade option. Militia were what they could round up from the citizenry...grab a pitchfork and put a chamberpot on your head (preferably a clean one) and head for the walls...

Looks like someones been playing the Lord of the Rings expansion for Medieval Total War 2. :)

I like the profiles, I would increase the points of the Greenway Sentries, and decrease the points cost of the Merchant cavalry and the Knight of Anuminas.

Hope that helps. :)

Seriously thinking of starting up this project now except one problem. The Perry Miniatures are 28mm scale. Isnt' Lotr 25mm and Warhammer is 28mm?

Metal and finecast LotR minis are at 28mm whereas plastics are at 25mm. So Perry minis should fit in fine?

Looking good.....One thing though, you can't use a 2-handed weapon and a shield at the same time. Your woodsmen have both, and the Knights of Anuminas could also have both.

Maybe for the woodsmen have a special rule that they have the shield on their backs, (as seen on the figures) and thus they get the +1 defence, but they can't shield?

And if the cav. get a shield they have to drop their 2-handed halberds?

*edit Huntsmen also seem a point too cheap for me, as compared to the bow militia. The huntsmen get +1 fight, shoot, and courage, as well as a better bow. Their only downside is -1 defence. (And for archers the +1 shoot and better bow is huge, whereas the defence, fight, and courage are negligable.) Imho.

Thanks Gothmog for the reassurance.

I'll take a second look at these profiles once I fully commit to this project. When I made the profiles I was comparing them to existing ones in the One Rulebook. But more criticism is always welcomed.

As far as price goes for the miniatures it cost 8 GBP/12.64 CAD + whatever else sort of fees and taxes for 3 metal cavalry, and 6.50 GBP/10.27 CAD + for 6 metal on foot miniatures. Great prices.

So this will be next on my hobby budgeting plans followed by Spartan Hoplites to represent "300".

*edit: Aargh, some of the links are broken, now I have to find the right models again, bah. And yeah I have to fix the problem of having two-handed weapons being included in the base pricing of some of the profiles.
