So if I am doing more of a small action scene could I put the peices together first as long as I don't start painting or must be completely unassembled at the beginning of the process?

You may start to piece your scene together now, as long as you do not start painting it before the challenge starts.

hey everyone,

First I am here, I do look at the forums but I don't really post anything because i'm so busy with college.

Second, I have a question for you guys and admins here at the One Ring.

As you guys know I have a thread and my latest mini i'm working on ( for months now) is still a work in progress.

Since it does have a themed base I was wondering, "Can I continue using this model and then enter it into the challenge?"

Honestly, this would be my first challenge I have been involved in. Also the time it would take me to paint the rest of it would take the same amount of time for a person to finish a whole mini.... yes, i am a slow painter... :D

SO, this goes out to you guys...

If you guys feel like its not appropriate then its ok, I don't have to be in this challenge.

I just wanted to put this thought out..

what do you guys think??

thanks

Hi Feonor, I assume you're talking about the Guard of the Galadhrim Court in your WiP thread? If so how much further has it progressed since the last update? We require a proof picture at the start of the challenge of your entry unpainted, at the moment it looks like just the skin has been done. If this is the case if you could just re-undercoat the skin and start from there, then I'm sure the completed base won't be much of a problem, seeing as it's a painting challenge and the painting on your mini is the important thing. Normally we require the entire mini to be unpainted at the start but I am willing to let the base off in this case, however I'm afraid you will still need the mini itself to be unpainted (or undercoated). It would be great to have you in the challenge so if you can meet this requirement it would be good, if not, regrettably you would not qualify for the challenge. But it would still be nice to watch you progress with painting your mini when you do start to continue with it.

I hope this has been helpful.

Well if I were to ever receive my metal Dragon this December, I would paint him in the likes of a white frost dragon.

I have this really good idea but it involves sculpting, which I'm not great at; if anyone fancies themselves good enough and wants to know the idea just send me a PM. ;)

Dont think like that, try sculpting your idea! get some fun doing it, I bet you can do it if you try, maybe not at first but dont give up without trying 8)
