I've decided to enter Elrohir as my Glorfindel only needs some touch ups and a base and Elrohir was in dire need of a new paint job.
Here's the proof pic (if pictures had smell, you'd probably still smell the acetone, as I've stripped him 15 min ago.)

Looking forward to see what everyone will do.

@BizzareWarstar - I will allow Haldir. Although in the original rules it said High Elf, the Haldir miniature is still similar to Glorfindel and as you've already started I'd hate for you to have to restart another entry due to my unclear rules :P

I guess I got a bit racist, elf plus armour equals eligible entry. Its my knowledge of elven lore that is in question not the rules which are quite clear. thanks for excusing it though and allowing Haldir :)

@ D.M.S: Had to repaint mine too, face and robes twice and then the gold about three times, elves can be a... difficult to paint.

Here's himself anyway with a bit of a vampire look about him...

Amazing entry. Quality painting indeed BizzareWarstar, I really like the colour you've achieved on the armour and the pale skintone is fitting for Haldir.

Bizarre, first off haldir's looking really great so far. But, I notice two areas that are not as good as the rest. The first is the cloak, it doesn't seem to have that much depth. I can't really make out any highlights/shadows, which are really important imho, especially for a figure with such a prominent cloak, like haldir.
*looking closer* Actually there are highlights and shadows, but the highlights look like camera flash type highlights. Maybe add one or two more highlights to the cloak?

The second thing is his hair, I know that blonde hair can be really hard. But, it looks like the shadows are a grey/brown dirty colour, and to me that is just clashing with the rest of your mini, which is painted in a very clean style, while the hair is not.
Btw, is the upper part of the golden scalemail supposed to be tinged red?
Hopefully I didn't sound too negative..... :)

Thanks guys, I was worried his face might have been too pale or not have enough tones or something.

Nice observations. The hair was my major concern too, I did give the cloak fine highlights of light pink but in fairness the are subtle, and that you mention it I think the light has also created false highlight's in the shade, or where I should have shaded more, interesting though I never considered that, but your right, the tones on his robe are not as sharply contrasted as the could be. perhaps he should do with more shading and highlighting then.

Yeah the hair is murky looking, I shaded using some thinned black and a little brown, then went over that with Graveyard Earth, which is probably the dirty culprit or perhaps I haven't used enough dark colours?, the blonde is after all sitting close to the dark eyes and the almost entirely black sleeve, which doesn't help the contrast on the hair either.

In my defense though, he was painted after doing three Nazgul, Radagast the Brown and inbetween 2 WOMT Guards of the Court and some Mirkwood spiders plus I painted his face, armor and robe more than once already all in three or four days, which is a bit of a record for me, and also my excuse :P

I don't know about the red on his scale mail though, I was kind of following the color scheme in the sbg rule book, looked red, I doubt it is though. I'll do some more on his hair and cloak, he is after all one of only three miniatures I have from Lothlorien, so.

...and I consider it constructive feedback not negativity, so cheers mate 8)

Good job on Elrond Elessar, your painting is improving, There's more details on this single miniature compared to your Aragorn.

Here's my proof.
Image
Worked on it half way and I'm having difficulty with the colour scheme because he looks exactly like elrond with blue and green.

Nice work on Elrond GE 8) The colours look good - gold edging on the skirt is nice work!
