I used to have well over 1000 minis (1300 ish) a couple of years back, but a lot of them were missing weapons / really badly painted and so (and lots of you will hate me for this) rather than find new weapons or paintstrip them, I.... I..... I threw out about 300 minis. I'm now in the process of buying lots more min is at most opportunities, incase GW don't get their licence for LOTR back. Unlikely, but who knows for sure.
I've got about 800 minis now.

I have probably somewhere close to 7-800 LotR mini's. Thankfully I have not yet succumbed to the temptation of other games systems.

I have a mate who has thousands and thousands of LotR and Star Wars mini's. He has a spare room with boxes and boxes of models. When I got there, I'm like a kid in a candy store!!!

I voted for 500+ but am not sure.

When I count what I have I usually exclude doubles of characters (which then distorts what I really have as I probably own about 5 Aragorns for instance and each of the hobbits several times courtesy of BGIME) and broken ones that aren't fit to be used in a game. Maybe just under 400 of LOTR and slightly shy of 100 Space Marines and then like 4 Warhammer models which I'm not really interested in.

Having collected for about 8 or 9 years that averages out as somewhere between 50 and 60 models a year (although it is 3 years since I last bought a model).

I thought I had too large a collection already but this thread shows I'm not as bad as I first thought!
