The first word the came to mind when I saw your model, Bilbo, was "scary"! And that's a compliment. :)

Very good job and yeah the eyes are a stand out. You've set the bar high Bilbo.

About 20 hours in . . . about 40 hours to go. Base is going to be a horde of gold, weapons, and armor. Still working out the colors for the "leathery" parts of the wings. I'm pretty much set on how I want the scales to look, though I have 100s more to do. Still deciding on whether or not to do a wash over the base skin to lighten it up a bit or to leave it very dark. Completely unsure of what I want for the breast plates.

Nice one Bilbo, he turned out really cool and what a great substitute miniature as well. Nice choice of colours so far on the Drake Jobu, I particularly like how their working around his head area. The Ent is coming along nicely too Avenger, well defined.

At what point do you expect to go mental ? :P seriously though, he's coming along and the yellow eyes are really dramatic against the red scales. I know he's not done but I think the black and red actually look good on him.

Dave - fantastic work on Varghulf/Gulavhar! Love the fur and spines down the back. Great painting.

IS - the dragon is coming along a treat. The scales look great. Worth all the effort. I am starting to get a picture of the base now too - should be awesome when complete.

I've made a bit of progress on the drake. Her spines need painting as do her horns? (what are those things protruding from her head?) and face. Happy with the colour scheme now.

Thanks, the body isn't actually black it has 3 washes over the black basecoat that give it a dried blood tinge, hard to see with my cell phone camera. I am definitely going to submit the final picture with a better camera. I agree I too like the contrast. Worried about how it will look when I do the breast scales though because right now I am not thinking red--maybe a fiery orange with highlights of yellow. Still toying with it though. Same with the wings.

Edge, Cave drake looks awesome, the washes have really developed a depth of color great back right leg.

Well this is going to be interesting. I don't have any spectacular monster, I just have the MoM cave troll... Blah! The sculpt really isn't to bad, but I think the face is a bit distorted, and his pose is quite funky. Anyway, here's my proof pic and wip shots.

I'm also going to paint a goblin too.

He's almost finished, just need to touch a few things up, and the base needs some work still too. I have thank TheBucklandBrewer for writing such a great article on painting cave trolls. It gave me quite a bit of inspiration and useful tips, especially for the skin, and it was very well written. I hope you guys like it!

update-tongue and mouth are done, starting on the boney protrusions. I will probably give the body another purple drybrush before I start the belly and finish the head tentacles/protrusions.

Interesting way of doing the drake's head slither-spikes.

POW - nice work on the troll, good skin colour.
Jobu - great to have another cave drake on board! Love the funky blue tongue and red eye.

Really cool idea with straightening out the spines on the head of the drake...almost like a cobra with it's hood spread out ready to strike! 8)
