Looks great Ares!
If I may make a suggestion, a solid color painted around the base may add a finishing touch and give an overall sense of completion. I use dark flesh on my important models. Check my entry for what I mean.

I do really like your basing though! :yay:

Thanks!

I was actually going to give the base circle a couple more coats to make it solid, but then I found I liked the dirty orky camo look, so I left it as it is on purpose. :)

Great job Ares! My only criticism would be that it looks too glossy... but I don't know, maybe he's just wet. 8) Btw, I've been going through the entries and I have realized that I have never been able to see the work of Wah Wing because of some problem with his pictures. I first noticed this in the Aragorn Challenge. Is anyone else having this problem?

Maybe he's caught in a thunderstorm and that's why he has that scared look on his face. Wrapped in all that metal makes him a lightning rod. :)

It's the dipping varnish. Maybe I should finally get some matte varnish too.

Great entry Wah Wing, the white hand on his face is really good.

Thanks guys!
I also followed your advise Sacrilege and uploaded the pics as one pic. Hopefully it helps with voting, if not, oh well.

LoL, you really like to steal the show a lot with your outrageous bases. First with Aragorn, now this! Job well done, if people find the Lurtz models too close to call in voting, your base will certainly be a tie breaker.

Thanks guys. I think I'm out of ideas for over-the-top bases. Next one might have to be standard gravel and grass.

I thought this one told a nice story (well...not for the dead guy).
