Finally the finished Troll! Umpteen hours work later and....I buy another troll torso off of ebay! I must be mad!
I would show my elves I bought this week as I just cast up some shields using hot glue but every one has broken and I have a heck of a lot of painful burns thanks to a spillage......be careful. This Hobby can be dangerous!!!!!
Anyway, Troll time

I kept the base simple as I said.

Fantastic work, sir!

One word of criticism: Although you have done an excellent job of sculpting on the legs, the lower half of the troll seems to be slightly out of proportion with the top half. The second photo really illustrates this point. Then again, maybe this is a female troll and that's the troll equivalent of buxom. Ha!

The painting looks great. The face is especially good.

Thank you. It does look a bit odd but I think that it is made a bit more extreme in the photo compared to on the mini: the upper torso is twisted at the waist and the phot makes it look like too much junk in the trunk!. It is a case of the green stuff being used to thickly for the mail armour as it looks bunched up.However, as with all my sculpting projects, I often think they will fail..... I have another photo of the back I forgot to post up

Dude awesome as troll. The troll itself doesn't look that big but that's probably just the pics. Seriously I reckon it's freakin cool though.

It is the same size as the plastic Troll and a little smaller than the metal Mordor Troll. The base is a cavalry base as it was the only one I had. I can assure you he is a beast! When I finish (or start!) my other trolls I will post them up together. My Drummer troll is the midget of them all but then he is a drummer! Tool puny and thick to fight! LOL

Thanks for confirming. That's great. Forgot to mention before but your boromir is amazing. You should have entered the boromir painting challenge.

That is one FABULOUS Troll! I love trolls, and this one makes my troll chieftain look like a 5 minute job. The Bormoir and Legolas are outstanding also, but the troll is by far my favourite

Thanks all. I will be doing it all over again when my cave troll body comes arrives from ebay. This one will be a Cave troll but armoured as I have ran out of troll heads. Basically I have the Right arm of the Mordor Troll (Metal) left arm of the plastic troll minus its hand so will have to use the cave troll hands and do a bit of work on them to make the scales match. I will also post up my fellowship progress as well. Plastic Aragorn is done. Plastic Frodo and Pippin is next

Some more WIP. I cut the head off the wrong Gimli as I planned to use the Mines of Moria Gimli, not Heroes of the west. The head is from a Wargames Factory German. I have mega issues with how PJ portryed Gimli and so he has no helm or that massive axe. Axe is from a Gripping Beast Danish axe. The beard needs more work but I am happy with it. The photo makes it look as if the GS is a terrible sculpt job but it doesnt show that the GS is blending with the existing mini. The figure was a 99p job from ebay that had a terrible paintjob but some nitro R/C bubby fuel put pay to that! The Uruk is a broken mini. The banner is made from the wrapper of a set of scalpel blades with the numbers that they emboss on the side burnished off. Skully is a Warg rider, Morannon Orc body and arms and the head from the conversion kit (have two of them and already made a ft version and have the official one as well).

I absolutely love that Morannon Orc on Warg. It looks exactly like a model from AOME.

The troll looks awesome :yay: And I love the other conversions. Can you let me know how you detach bits from metal models? (Oh, I see the head for Skully is from the conversion kit?).
