A bit of a real life update. 2 April was the wedding which meant that Faramir and Eowyn had their day together on top of a rather tasty cake.

Image

And as if the time couldn't be any better whilst away I found an independent gaming store with a small stock of oop lotr figures including the older Halbarad model that I much prefer to the grey company version. The unfurling of Aragorn's standard at the battle of Pelennor fields is a favourite lotr moment of mine so I'm rather pleased to be able to include Halbarad in my Pf themed force.

I was tidying my desk and realised I had completely forgotten about Celeborn since coming back from holiday and so set to work on him again.

Nice painting 8)

Garmenhord: I believe that's where his shield attaches to, he maybe painting it separately.

The painting on Celeborn is outstanding. I think you have achieved your aim of improving this year. I love your style - very realistic. Your Boromir in the painting competition is awesome also. :yay: :yay:

Thanks. Being on one-ring has really helped keep me motivated and, in the case of the monthly competitions, push myself to improve.

I used nmm. On reflection I think the shield needs a little more work as it's looking quite flat in comparison to the rest of the armour.

Well i'm quite impressed with the natural NMM look you got going, tbh i though it was NMM but didn't want to commit if i looked silly ;) nice job

Thanks. My goal is to one day enter GD but I think this year's competition may be too early for me as I still have some improvements to make. I'll see how things are around August.

Here's todays work:

I suppose it's a scratch on the wall, but it looks like a feather. That would be a nice addition!

Ha, I didn't notice that. It's actually a box lid that I use when spray priming my miniatures (the pictures turn out better with a dark background). The feather is where a base has become stuck to the surface.
