http://wizkidsgames.com/blog/2011/01/18/two-games-to-rule-them-all/

"(January 18, 2011-Hillside NJ) – Wizkids announced today the addition of “The Lord of the Rings” property to their 2011 HeroClix release schedule through a licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products. The first products of the new “The Lord of the Rings” line will be a HeroClix miniatures game followed by a HeroClix strategic board game, both of which will release in the back half of 2011."

Do you think that this could mean that GW will not renew the license? (I think that this year is the end of the 10 years of license of GW) or maybe is a different license and could co-live together? :?: Could this affect to our game?

I'd say that it has nothing at all to do with what GW do. Wizkids and GW work in different genres of games entirely and both outfits seem to like to focus on their own core.

The LOTR game (and this includes both the Movies and Tolkien estates, of which GW has both) licenses have never been for all types of games and last time around you had multiple sets of products out there.

I find it odd. Heroscape,Star Wars and D&D figures seem to have been canceled. There was another click LOTR game that was also canceled a few years back. I hope the figures are better than some of the others they produced.

I just wish the scale would be about the same so we could get some more variety (snap them off the clicks, glue them on a mini base). A chance for fewer "mega-huge sword raised over head" or "needs more skulls" themes, and maybe they would do a decent Ent too.
