Hello Again Everyone!
After an absence I finally got back into the hobby and got a whole lotta updates to show!
Many of the miniatures I got awhile ago I just left them off and were gathering dust in my case. I'm going to try and paint them some time this week.
TerrainJust last Friday, I got a sudden urge to finally start making some terrain pieces for my gaming table.
I really like how the Ruins turned out. It was my first time using foamboard to make stuff and I found that I wasn't to bad at using it! (I see I left my favorite videogame laying on top of my favorite movie's case
)
Close up of the ruins
This piece I just finished today. I think the trees are a little too bright for where my tables located. I'll use it for Shire scenarios though
Some Orcs in the Wood
Other WIPSThese are some guys I haven't got to painting yet. I also have 24 dwarf rangers in the same state as well along with some Orcs
Rangers
I think Im going to make this figure Halbarad. Mainly because the banner on the new figure looks too much like the normal Gondor banner where this one has it's own design. Plus I sculpted a quiver to his back so he can have a bow.
Pippin and some guardsmen with my custom Osgiliath bases.
Painted MinisThis Dunedain I painted last week. I really like how he turned out. Anyone have any tips on how to paint beards? I got hair down fairly well but my beards look to flat. (As you'll see on my Aragorn figure down below)
I actually painted Theoden awhile ago, I just haven't gotten the chance to post him up. I do like how Snowmane (Right?) turned out.
Theodens Riders, allies for Gondor. Got to put together some Rohan warriors too...
I really like this model since It's the only one with Legolas wearing a cloak with his Mirkwood items. I decided to paint the cloak like his Mirkwood cloak that you can see in his picture in the Fellowship journey book.
I really don't like this sculpt of Aragorn. It just doesn't look much like old Viggo and his outfit is messed up considering he has Boromir's bracers, but no Elven cloak. So I decided to fix that.
Oh, And I really hate his beard so if anyone can offer some advice on painting beards, I'd gladly appreciate it.Sculpt work to add Elven Cloak and Ranger supplies.
I just love how Gandalf turned out. His robes turned out very smooth and Glamdring looks great!
This has to be one of my best figures. This is my second favorite sculpt of Aragorn (Weathertop being the first) because it looks the most like Viggo imo.
His face turned out great and the only thing I may touch up is that dang beard!
His duster coat and his tunic turned out fantastic and I finally got his boots to look more like they do in the movie.
Sculpted his quiver and bow on his back too! I also painted his horse to look like Brego instead of Hasufel.
Well sorry for the overload of images but I hope you like um.
I'll try to make some more updates since I'm planning on building A LOT more terrain. Speaking of which, does anyone know where to buy some discounted hirst arts molds? I would buy them from him, but they are REALLY expensive and I can afford them with what little money I have. (I'm only 15 after all)
Well anyways I'll see y'all round!
