Small request...next update could you include a picture from further away? If it looks amazing this close up, it'd be interesting to see how it looks at arm's length :)

A very neat dwarf, even if the axe is pure Warhammer...
So, becoming a mod on O-R is bad for the back? Terrible....

Really great job on him so far, I particularly like the leather armour, you managed to achieve a very realistic effect there.

Hope your back is better, cheers!

Thanks guys.

I worked the leather just a wee bit more. I know I could try to make it better but, at the moment, I just want to get rid of this little bugger so I'll call it done.

Again, the pictures are not great. For some reason the setup I always used isnt really working for this mini and sunny days seem to be on strike. Best I could do, sorry guys.

The snow I used is a product from Andrea miniatures and it looks pretty good and very easy to use. You just need to do a 50:50 PVA/water mix and add this stuff, and then apply on the model with a brush or a toothpick. Good stuff.

The mini turned out great, I really like the way the shades of colours you chose work together. The base is also excellent - what did you use for the snow?

Oh yeah... I forgot about you Anduril. ;)

Didn't really take notes but the handle was painted starting with a mix of Dark Flesh and Red Gore, adding some Basic Red (Andrea) to highlight, and then some yellowish/orangy mix I had around from the gold NMM. I know that I used some blue too to darken the mix for the shades too. Sorry if I'm not too specific but like I said, don't have any notes.

Further away pics? Sure. :)

@Viruk: The snow is a product from Andrea miniatures. They call it crystal mineral powder... here's a link.

Base completed well painted mini. NMM was a good idea in context of this particular interpretation.

Thanks Mac! Using blue for shading is an interesting idea...I've heard of it before, now I'll have to try it :)

Awesome awesome work Mac....by the way, I'll send you my address and expect it in the mail within the week :P

The snowy base really completed it, and was a nice contrast to the colors used on the dwarf...well done :yay:

Been a while since I last updated this thread... about time I guess.

I finally picked the (free :D ) Mantic ghouls and started painting them. Overall, I'm really impressed by the quality of the details and sculpt. It really is top notch and I don't have any problem recommending these. I wasnt that impressed with the elfs, but these are great! And cheap!

If you are not familiar with the Mantic ranges, check their stuff in the Mantic Games website.

Anyway, I did some work on one of the two ghouls I got in the free sprue and this is how it is looking so far:

Update time! Freddie's claw is now painted, and so is the satchel with the extra feet and hand. :D

Not investing too much time on these so I'll move forward to the other ghoul and then make some sort of scenic base for them.

Catch you later!
:P

Indeed, very well done :yay:

IMO, it looks a lot like a zombie... but maybe that's just because I watched 28 Days Later ^^
