Hey guys,

I have been a visitor on the One Ring for quite sometime now. And because I recently started my own terrain project I thought I would share my project too. The project I've been working on for sometime now is Osgiliath, I'am almost done with the first ruin which (so far) took me approximaly 8 hours to make. I hope you like it as much as I do. It's ofcourse still not finished but hey who cares since this is the 'Work in Progress' section.

This is btw the first time I post any pictures on the web, so fingers crossed if they turn out right when I post this.

oooo very nice, it's always fantastic to see terrain/scenery, and to see Osgiliath terrain is even better! I've always fancied building it. Some impressive work there, as donuthare said, i model for size reference would be handy. What did you use for the brickwork? some closeups on that would be handy. Look forward to seeing more about this on this thread.
Great work, love it. 8)

Thanks for the kind words. I use foamboard, the brickword is carved (right word?) in with a knife, very time consuming. There is a model in the shadow on the last picture in the hole on the left. Difficult to see though, I will post a better picture.

I expect that this will certainly look amazing, based on that magnificent start. Seriously, that initial building looks superb.

No Aragorn unfortunatly, it's an Haldir's Elf (old metal one with blade). The plan is to make a large board for the original SBG, which means in my opinion much hand to hand combat in small places. And yes more pictures will follow when I make some progression.

It looks very good! has a nis feel to it, and the painting is good as well. I'd advise you to tone down the ruined pieces a bit, as I think (just my opinion) that nog all of the buildings would have been destroyed. :)

also makes for interesting gaming tactics, having open and closed bits and pieces.

I’m impressed by the quality of your ruins; the brick-work and the traces of damage look very real to me! You sure know how to build lifelike walls! :yay:
I'm Looking forward to your update!

Thanks for sharing your opinion, I actually felt the opposite. Some pieces are too intact for my taste hahah. But hey different people different opinions. Appreciated though.

And yes, thats the plan. Making an interesting gaming board with lots of openings to for example shoot from. I really tried my best to get the right feeling when I look at this ruin, a feeling of a city in ruin where you have to fight block by block to conquer it. If you know what I mean.

Well I've been working hard on my Osgiliath
to give you guys some progress.
I started out with the left wall.

Image

The same new wall but from a different
angle together with some more miniatures on
the left to show you guys the scale more
clearly. I will post a close up off the left
wall soon, the picture came out too dark.

Image

Close up

Image

Another one from the wall to show you more clearly
how I made them and how the brick carving looks like.

Image

I have some more pictures ready of the inner right
wall, but they will have to wait because I want to
keep you curious and it's not 100% ready either
(90% give or take) so new pictures will be posted soon.
