The painting is great, though I think that overall they tend to be a little too dark for elves, imho. :wink:

the pikes are straight bro.

anyway, the pic is kind of bad, but if you guys read from previous replies, that i went for a look that is darker because they are elves from the first age, specifically, fingolfin's regiment..

that's why the whole look of the army is dark, but i love it!

Just a quick question for you agincourt 777..

I can see that you put your models on a gaming board of some sort, but what kind of lighting did you use to get such a good pic quality?

I'm having trouble setting up a good station in which to take photos of my mini's..

anyway thanks again

Great work guys! Feanor, those elves are pretty dark, but I really like the tone. Maybe a very light drybrush of chainmail on the armour would bring out a bit more contrast. Agincourt, very nice highlighting, you can even see the chin lines. That's way beyond my unsteady hands :)

thanks for the comments everyone!

regarding photos: well, im no master at taking pictures, but with the two previous ones i got as much natural light as i could.

with most of the rest i took them late, so i had to use flash, the reasoning behind the horrifically bright colours. it seems to bring out much more detail, but it really messes up the brightness of the pic. meh. oh well. i'll say again that i'm no master when it comes to photos.

there might be something on the photography forums.

i'll also add that painting galadhrim is getting slightly tedious atm. grrr. only 80+ to go, then im onto high elves. and wood elves. and warhammer high elves. dammit SO many ELVES. :x

nice work with the painting but I should give the warriors shields with all the strength 4 evil armies.

@feanor, looks better IMHO.

@hero, with blades there's no point as a shield prevents you from using 2 handed.

Whafrog that's true but if you are fighting behind the sword then you have no use of your shield and if you sent your spearmen to the front with shields there is no one to support them.

great unit, your army is really coming along well. those faces have been done very nicely, esp the middle helmetless one. i look forward to seeing more elves!
