Very nicely done, though maybe you should have some slightly more irregular paving and some signs of light damage and weathering to the walls.

This is what I am referring to:

I enjoy your fabulous terrain (and the speed of construction!).

Helm's Deep with pants... that image will stay with me forever...

Keep going HV - with or without pants...

Just interested, how did you curve the foamboard like that?

Looks very good.

well it can bend abit.. so i try to see how much it can bend.. more over i reinforced under the foam with layers of glue to prevent it from breaking.. thus making it abit more flexible

That's an interesting way to do it. I don't think I'll try it, as foamboard's pretty expensive here, so I don't want to risk wasting it.

I am going to build my Helms Deep from Wood. I will bend plywood over a frame work like on a boat or airplane wing.

You can score the back of your foam board with a razor knife. Just cut shallow V shape cuts along the back. I saw a tool made for this on the rack in the art store near the foam board and foam card.

Making purchases at the art store is about the most expensive way to buy anything.Try the Lumber yard. The chain Home Improvement store is also a good source. It is way cheaper than the art store. You can get a roll of insulation foam or a 4'X8' sheet of pink insulation board for the cost of a small piece of foam core. They will even cut it for free.

I have not made the calculations to see if I could build Helms Deep from one 4'X8' but that seems a little High. It may be the Value added tax.

The cost for wood. I already have more than enough scrap. If I had to purchase it. Under $50. Half that if I use hard board instead of ply.

It's so cool to see these projects taking shape.
