I don't think he's enormously fat as others seems to think. I think we need to see another angle of him. To me he's not Faramir though. He may be useful as another character or even a nameless Captain.

I quite like the new Faramir actually. I don't see where people are coming from saying he's fat, you can't see very much of his body. And I think the main problem with his face is just the paintjob. If he were painted in a more traditional Gondorian color scheme, with black and silver with white trim, I think he'd look even better.

Not really sure the need for another thread just to discuss him though...

I disagree. He has no Dol Amroth heraldry at all. The only thing that makes it seem that way is the blue paint scheme. Paint him in traditional Gondorian colors like I suggested, and he bears zero resemblence to Dol Amroth and looks a little nicer too.

Well its not Faramir or at least not the actor who played him. This is just another model for the WOTR powergaming arms race crowd.

THE models itself is very cool and nice, even with this the paint job  but it indeed doesn´t resemble Faramir very much, though with an alternative paint scheme it would be O.K

But why is he painted blue..

I think he is the prince of Ithilien,
the title that Aragorn has given to him.

Yes, I'm almost positive that 's the time period he's supposed to represent. Faramir as he is as Prince of Ithilien and Steward of Gondor, in the Fourth Age.

Perhaps they should have painted him wih a mostly white color scheme? After all, Faramir's guards in the Fourth Age were called the White Company. :)

with a different colour scheme he would look pretty good. also, he will probably have a new statline for sbg which will make him more powerful.

But if this model represents him while he was prince of Ithilien why did they call him Faramir captain of Ithilien

To me, it's not Faramir. But it is a fairly nice model all the same...if it makes it into my collection it will likely become a statue or another lesser hero for Gondor (using SBG captain stats).

i agree with the colour scheme thing i think it would look much better in blacks or white, the only problems i have with it are that the paint job on gw's site is awful the face looks terrible, and that it doesnt look like movie faramir thats what ive always liked about the lotr range you could tell who it was as they looked like the actors this one looks nothing like him and to a lesser extent the new eomer is the same

In my opinion he's just some drunk fat guy who's eaten a few too many mcburgers and frankly it's animal cruelty to put him on a horse.

I'm prejudiced. 8)
