Pinky Beecroft - where did the horse in your mounted AotD King come from? The conversion turned out great!

Thanks mate, I used a Witch King (Minas Tirith) model, as well as the king obviously. If you look through this thread a few pages earlier you can see a bit of my progress with the conversion.

Absolutely disgusting Dave.....ugh....his little pal is even grosser than he is....and then you had to go and make a base of dead grass and dirt on top of it....the whole thing feels utterly rotten, decaying and disgusting.

The tilted head of the....well...whatever you call the little undead hobbit makes him look even grosser/scarier/etc.

Amazing job. Wow. Ugh. Wow. Ugh.

Bart, really liking the colors on your wights there...very ghostly. Is that OSL I see on the base?

SkeletonTodd, you did a very clean job...I like the skin color and the glowing red eyes...

Some stiff competition here!

OSL ?
I tried to add some 'lightish' reflection... some kinda glow... but I still need some more practice on that technique before I can do it a bit more proper, heh

thanks for the nice words though :)

Guys... really great stuff... nice variety of schemes too....

Bilbo - love it... twisted AND ruinous rott! The undead Hobbit is fantastic!

SkeletonTodd - thought yours was great.. the eyes are hellish, the base is very well done... the dusty moldy looking cloak bottom suits well too...

BucklandBrewer - very clean and "glowy-bright"... which is obviously what you were shooting for... nicely blended blueish-green... super... they really "pop"...

Anduril - great job on the base... it's looking quite cold all over between it and the skillfully "chilly" spectre... great job...

Yup, deadline is the day after tomorrow, so you've got time to spare! 8)

Great job there doug, very dark colors and a nice contrasting skin color. Those glowy eyes really creep me out... :o

You bet you made it in time, and I'm very glad you did this is a very good mini imho. I really like the alternate, dark, scheme. Having the skin like real skin but the rest of the mini spectral makes it all the more spooky, the eyes are killer. :o

I haven't figured out the one-ring personal galleries yet, and since my wife and I also have guests over right now who want to play LOTRO, I'm just going to link to pics in my photobucket account I just uploaded now.

She was painting army of the dead for this, but didn't get them done in time. If the thread stays unlocked for an extra day we can post them in here (no worries about the competition aspect - it's not a factor). I nicked 2 of her AOTD to use as additional Barrow-wights, to give variance in the models, and also because the scenario in the FotR sourcebook calls for 4 of the little dears.

The colour scheme is clearly inspired by TheBucklandBrewer's great work in this thread - the original concept was much more of a GW-standard look, similar to UKFB, but a little more bluish on the non-armoured bits.

Image
"Proof" shot. (and yes, I swapped out one of the AOTD models for a different one)

Image
Robe coat decided on. Some shading.

Image
Robes highlighted, Armour basecoated

Image
Armour aged. More highlighting.

Image
Completed Former-AotD-Wights. I will touch up that guy's moustache, though.

Image
Completed "proper" Barrow-Wights.

A couple of "on-the-shelf" shots my wife took later on.

Great work Pasi! I like the robes very much, they have a very spectral feel to them. I also really like the base. All around great entry, Pasi. The competition sure will be fierce this month. 8)

I've seen some good entries in this competition, bravo!

Well, here're mine. I couldn't decide which one to enter since they are both different(and not my best but they will do the trick)
