Seen em and pinched em - will use them eventually...

great little things, besides i am sure they make enough money not to worry for the missing stirrers...

I will use some on a maintanance tower like you have done josh, really good.

The scale is very large for those weeny dwarves imo - but thats a matter of opinion.

Just one small note of critisism, the metal paint you have drybrushed the rivets with has overlapped onto the wood. (look at the top of the left hand pole)

cheers

Yeah, I agree with James - it does look a bit big, especially those ladders, but if you're going to build some more it won't harm to have some bigger than others. :)

Do you guys really think the scale is too big? It's actually qute a bit smaller then GW's, I was worried it was too small!

It will still be a long while, perhaps not until early next year, so don't get too excited.

Thanks again for the comments guys. :)

No, I think that it's just the right size, you don't want the mine working to be too small, because the Dwarves would need it to be big

Absolutely lovely job on it! In my opinion, it seems a tad too big, but great nevertheless, so don't change anything ;)
Any updates on the board?

tbh Josh, with something as crude and structurally unplanned (don't take that the wrong way - i mean the nature of the tower, platforms and ladders) as the maintanance tower, i don't think the scale is of great importance - as long as you are in the right sorta area of scaling - besides, you can make the next ones smaller and bigger that the last to make it more to your liking. Mine Personally will be a tad smaller....

Cheers

James

I have an update, just not on the WIP you guys were probably expecting!

I debated whether I wanted to revive my old WIP, as I am no longer collecting Dwarves and Goblins at the present, but in the end I decided I'd like to get feedback on my newest terrain piece.
Some of you may remember the mines of moria board I started awhile back, well one of the boards is now finished. This should also explain the lack of updates in my other thread, as this board has been the center of my attention of late. :)

Whenever I get back to collecting Moria, I'll finish up the other three boards but for now this is it. :)

How's it look guys? I've finished and submited an article on how to construct this, so fingers crossed that it gets accepted. :)

Great work. Is the river bed dry or is the water muddy? It looks great either way but I just couldn't decide. I would personally add a few more rocks here and there to give the ground a more irregular look as it would look more natural.

Thanks for the comments guys. :)

@ Dwarf Lord of Ered Luin

It's meant to represent an abyss, similar to the one spanned by the Bridge of Khazad-Dum. It's simply painted black. :)

Really nice, Josh! The drybrushing on the rocks is really well done, I like the chasm! :-D

looks good

you could always have another single lane bridge over the chasm...that would look cool.

:)

A ricketty wooden bridge for the mines sounds nice, if I have any left over balsa I'll give it a try. :)
