Tiny update, but I wasnt able to do much today.

I painted the skull chains and a few other bits and bobs that were still missing, like the talons and the pelt underside.

Looking really great mate!
Any ideas already about what you gonna do with the base? Theme and so on? or just a standard one?

I never liked the foot version of this mini but you are doing a great job of it so far, are you planning on doing the set with Valten as well.

I was thinking something like a rocky outcrop with snow, but I'm open to suggestions.

@Tim: I'm painting this one as a single piece, never thought of making a diorama. I don't think I know that Valten set. Do you have a pic?

The Valten was specifically designed to go with this version of Archaon I think I even have the mini somewhere mate, the base were made to fit together as if in mid fight if memory serves. I'll try and find a picture and put it up.

Well, I'm gonna call it done. I need to pick some hobby materials as I seem to have run out of lots of stuff (even white paint!), including some bases too to finish this one.

Here's how it ended up Archie, Lord of the End Times.

It looks amazing, Mac. I love the flame effects on the sword. The chaos symbol on the shield turned out very good as well. Have you thought of how you'll base him when you get your materials?

Great work, Mac. 8)

Awesome work, Mac! I love it! The flame effect is awesome, and the armor is really good 8)

For basing, I personally think that the typical skull piles would be good....

Thanks everyone! Always nice to get some feedback! :D

@ Leaf: I was thinking a rocky snow base, maybe. But I'm not totally sure yet.

I just realised that I'll be busy next saturday afternoon and there's no way I'll get up early just to shopping... base will have to wait till next week.

Anyway, I picked another mini I had laying around and decided it was about time to do something with it. No, I'm no sick or anything, and there is no issue with your eyes. Believe it or not, its... a 40k mini! Abbadon, the Despoiler.

Image

Don't worry about the 'pinkiness' of the armour. It's just a start and it will be a lot more red in the end. I actually have him a bit more advanced already, but thought it would be interesting to see it right from the beginning. Oh, yeah! I did cut the ridiculous pony tail and did those brain inplants instead with thin guitar wire. I just hate those pony tails.

The pink fits so well with all 40k

Good luck on him Miggel, he's full of little trickynessies...

Archy looks great mate! Wish he was based already!

You make me feel like painting some Warhammer again...

Here's the update. As you can see the armour changed quite a bit by glazing some red into it. I'll still work the texture a bit more.

@Mad Brewer: full of trickynessies indeed... lot's of tiny details and half the mini is still missing. :s

Hmm, I know that mini, but its pretty much in the same pose as Archaon, it would look a bit weird now, in my opinion. Looks like a nice mini though. :)

By the way, does anyone know what colour are tiranyd bones?

And another update. Two more parts in place, two still missing.

Not sure about the blue tubes, I might change that for some other colour that fits better. I chose it just because of the Space Marine helmet trophy thing on the pole, but doesnt really fit IMO. Need to think about it, really.

Nothing is finished and everything looks quite messy at the moment, but that too will be gradually sorted out. Or so there's hoping.

WOW! The head is... WOW!! FANTASTIC Miggel!
Amazing how it turned out! The look you gave him in his eyes, that's just... WOW!

I'm sure the end-result will look great, it's already become a very nice pallete of colours, they fit all very well together!
Amazing mate!

The head... wow.. I can't get over it! 8)

Here's my current project: a Dwarf Lord. It's probably one of my favorite Warhammer miniatures. There's a few really nice dwarves in the range.

Anyway, here's how it is at the moment.

Any suggestions for the hair/beard colour? I can't decide... :/

Great work so far Mac! :D

As for the beard color, why not use the same colors you used to paint your LoTR Dwarf King?

Impressive looking so far Miguel...looking forward to seeing him completed! :)
Warhammer miniatures to me seem so ridiculous, but like you, I have always admired this sculpt. Might be in my "to purchase" list.
