Cool tower indeed. Could you take a few pics with miniatures, just so that we can see how large it is?

Thanks for the comments everyone. 8)

I've just been using the mine workings in the Khazad-Dum Sourcebook as a reference point, and then coming up with my own plans for the structure.

Sure thing, Olle. I'll include those in my next update. :)

Thanks for all the coments guys, they're much appreciated.

Well, I've now nearly finished with the mine working, all that's left is to add chains for the pulley, and then paint it. :)

I'll try to update either later tonight, or tomorrow.

Thanks again for all the comments guys. 8)

With the pulley system now complete, I've finished construction on my mine workings! All that's left is to paint the model. Unfortunately, that'll take longer then I'd like, as I'm out of a few of the paints which I'll need. So what do you guys think of it? I was thinking of writing an article on how to construct this Dwarven Mine Working, would any of you be interested in such an article? Comments and critiscms welcome. :)

Pretty cool, it's almost a replica of the Mine Workings in the Two Towers Journey book.

Thank you very much for the compliments guys, they mean a lot to me. I'll be sure to update again when I begin painting it.

Really? That's funny, as I don't even have any of the Journey book's.

Looks very good Josh. Now, loads more of these, and then you're ready for some spelunking.

Thanks for the comment, Sean. :)

:o

As much as the idea of spelunking appeals to me, I don't think I'll be making many more full-scale mine operations, though I will be building a few smaller ones. :)

This project is looking sweet! The wood scafolding will look great after a lick of paint.

Keep up with the great work mate!

:yay: It is looking super good, i love things with wood because you can get such nice texture. A good way I have found to paint wood is to apply lots of "washes"(as I don't have the official ones it's just watered down paint) of different brown and black colors then do a couple of dry brushes to highlight. I think it brings out the detail even more than normal because all the water 'raises*' the wood grain.

*I'm not sure if that's the right term is there a woodworker who knows?

I hope I helped. :)

Yeah, that's similar to what I had in mind for the painting. I'll be using drybrushes for highlights, and will be washing the recesses as well. I have the paint scheme all planned out, as soon as I get the paints I need, I'll test out the color scheme. :)

You've been very busy Josh! That mining piece looks great, full of detail! Have you got a chain and pulley system in mind?
