I have a small update today, its nothing much, and not terrain related. I was working on one of my Iron Guard, and I thought I'd post him here. C&C welcome as usual. :)

Lovely job! I especially like the gold trim on the chainmail... it's original and cool ;)
Great highlighting on the robes, especially the top part on his back... it looks marvelous, intentional or not
But oh oh... what is that I see? Some mischievous red paint made its way to the tip of the sword!?

:P

Great job Josh,

I also like the highlights you have done on the red robes :)

Thanks for the comments, guys. :)

I've been taking my time with this model, so its good to hear its turning out well. The gold trim is something different, and I really began to like the idea, so I decided to try it out on this Iron Guard. I'll do it again on the next Iron Guard I paint. I'll try to get some more work in on the Iron Guards over the coming week. This weekend, I'll begin work on my Dwarven Mine Workings, for my Moria board. 8)

Good painting, Josh. Nice highlighting as the others said, although, the golden helmet needs some more contrast.

Hey everyone, :)

As promised, I have an update for you this weekend. I picked up some balsa wood, and got to work on the mine workings. At this point I've finished most of the basic structure, and I should be able to work on the platforms later today. Comment and critiscm welcome. :)

No, I've just been using the mineworkings in the Khazad-Dum Sourcebook as reference, the plans are my own though.

I used greenstuff to help form a tighter bond, that is just the excess greenstuff which I haven't scraped off yet.

i was gonna make my own one of these field towers.

Anyone who has lotr conquest will know when i say the climable towers on the pelennor fields levels are cool archer points.

you have done it well, and i hope to look here for inspiration when making mine.

James

Thanks, James, I'm glad you liked the mine workings. :)

Sadly though, this one doesn't exist anymore. When I went to glue the platforms down to the first level, I accidently dropped it. :(

I've begun work on my new version, hopefully I'll have another update for you all tomorrow.

It was a little disheartening when it broke, having put so much work into it, but I tried not to be too discouraged and have already rebuilt the model. So, I should have an update later today, for you all! :)

Over the past two days, I've spent quite a bit of time working on my mine workings, and I'm fairly pleased with the results. I nearly gave up when my first one broke, but I'm certainly glad I didn't, as I think this version is a better attempt then my previous one. I'll be doing more work tomorrow, and with any luck the mine working should be finished by the weekend.

Looking really cool Josh!

The design of the model is great, have you copied it from one of the books or movies?
