Thanks for reading it.
The map looks a lot better now. 8)
It was just a small detail but it makes a big difference.
Now that I know what campaigns, etc there will be made I can do some Small things but school takes a lot of my time.
Just do what you like to first, there is no hurry as you said

Yay!!! I'm glad we're keeping the 3 campaigns idea. :D

Hmm, I just finished aqan's history (mighty good work) but I was wondering if it wouldn't be better to split the history into 3 and put it in front of each campaign, explaining what happened during that time. :?

The map does look better East-West than North-South :-D

@ Radagastbird: Thanks for proofreading. :D 8)

I really like the idea of spliting the history in three, as it will make it a lot easier to read.
In the weekend i'll make a few more pictures like the one in the history file to make it look a bit less boring.

And what about another paint guide? (goblins, rangers or warriors)
Personally I would like to do rangers or goblins as I've just done a lot of armour for dwarf warriors.

indeed a good idea. that way the history gives a good introduction to the campaigns.
A small guide is always welcome^^ (note we may be able to use a dwarven guide of TheBucklandBrewer, which have made a real nice guide about painting dwarfs(which will be uploaded soon). so for painting guides, you alway could make a goblin or ranger guide or anything else. it is really appreciated^^

and totally something else, for the balin campaign:

Scenario 2: By the sight of the Khazad-dum

Description:
Finally Balin’s dwarfs see the East-gate of their beloved Khazad-dum. Joy and anger are the mixed feelings the dwarfs get. They see some goblins guarding the gate and the dwarfs rush forward to claim Moria for their own. But wasn’t it better to plan a well-coordinated attack?

Historical Participants:
Good:
Balin
Floi (see the other thread for his profile)
4 Dwarf Rangers with Dwarf Longbows
4 Dwarf Rangers with Throwing Axes
4 Dwarf Rangers with Two-handed weapons
4 Dwarf Warriors with Two-handed weapons
4 Dwarf Warriors with Shield
4 Dwarf Warriors with Bow
3 Khazad Guard

Evil:
Goblin Captain
Goblin Captain with Bow
2 Goblin Shamans
16 Goblins with Shield
16 Goblins with Bow
16 Goblins with Spear

Lay-out & Deployment:
The game is played on a 110cm by 110cm board. In the West of the board lays the mountain with in the middle of it the Eastgate. The rest of the board is a normal board with some small rocks.
Image

Objectives:
The Dwarf-force needs to pass through the Eastgate in order to get inside Moria.

If 0-30% of the Dwarf force passes through the Gate, Evil wins.
If 30-70% of the Dwarf force passes through the Gate, It’s a draw.
If 70-100% of the Dwarf force passes through the Gate, Good wins.

Special Rules:
Rage:
The Dwarfs are angry to see their beloved Khazad-dum occupied by these stinking goblins. Therefore, one of the dwarfs (hero or warrior doesn’t matter) can cast Fury without spending a Willoint. The Fury is Cast on a 2+. This can only be done once in the game and by one dwarf.

Point Match:
Good selects 400points from the Moria Expedition list and Evil selects 400points from the Moria list.

and again, i hope you can give some feedback and testplaying^^

@Baruk-Khazad

I like the scenario and the special rules but I'm wondering why you chose Dwarf Rangers as the main force. Is it just a scouting party that attacked without back-up because of their rage. I don't know, I expected Dwarf warriors  no big deal.

@Aqan, my pleasure, can't wait for more :D

well, the reason is pretty simple: after a while the dwarfs go to the third deeps and find the armories. so i thought, after that point they get better armor, so they become dwarf warriors?

i dont know if thats a good reason, what do you think?
of course i could just swap them for warriors of course^^

edit:
whats a good composition:
3x8 rangers
3x4 rangers+3x4 warriors
3x8 warriors?

Ooh, that makes a lot more sense now that I see were you're coming from. What if you have a half/half (3x4 rangers and 3x4 warriors) because I'm sure most Dwarves were not going into Moria without decent armor. I think the use of the Dwarven rangers is good because they'll probably fade away as Balins expeditions continues into Moria.

So I think the 50/50 mix works well.

I agree with Radagastbird.
The 3x4 makes a lot of sense.
I'll start with a goblin guide today, but I'm a bit ill.
and maybe you should do some new maps for the scenario's because especially the last one looks messy.

alright, i'll edit it to 3x4

and the map is just a concept, and of course it need some editing cause it looks like Devlan Mud. but for testplaying purposes it fits, cause i think its clear(but far from beautifull)

@aqan and pagloss666, if you're willing you could make the guides! cause we still dont have them^^ and it will be great to have some^^
but take your time with it, cause there's absolutly no time pressure

@aqan i hope your illness will vanish soon^^

I've painted what I need and got all the pictures.
I'll start with the guide soon but I have such an headache that it costed a lot of effort to paint a goblin warrior. :o
So it could take some time. :(

@ Barukhazad: what do you think about the history I've send to you, because I wait with splitting it in 3 until you have said what you think of it.

Okay, if it's not too late already, I'll do better than give you ideas. I'd like to write at least part of the book. I'm actually working on a fantasy story I plan on getting published. I have sent clips of my work to various authors and all say I am a talented writer for my age (14.) If you'd like, I could try to send you a few paragraphs of what my writing looks like.

Very impressive.

If I may, I would suggest anyone contributing to this work check out the "Mines of Moria" boxed set for the Decipher Lord of the Rings roleplaying game. Mines of Moria was written by Chris Seeman who is one of the top Tolkien scholars and a gamer. so he knows how to make Tolkien's work gameable. While some elements of the history of the Dwarves was "tweaked" for license reasons, the history is pretty good and highly useful.

@aqan: sorry to respond to late on your history-part. i like it, its short and informative:o and i think its a good introduction to each campaign. so i think splitting is the best option(of course if everyone agrees with it)

@anduril flame: What do you want to write and stuff? do you have any ideas?^^

@aelfwine: Is it the lotr rpg what you're talking about? maybe it is good to get some inspiration and stuff.

@gorb@g: Azog will be coming. we're creating 3campaigns(durins fall by the balrog. the war between orcs and dwarf and balins attampt to reclaim moria)
on the moment im working on balins attempt. but when i come to the point of creating rules and scenarios for the war between dwarfs and orcs, azog wont be left out.

@radagastbird: still like all the proofreading?:P

ill send you my gate-guide, when i've finished, but before that:

Scenario 3: The Pillars of the First Hall.

Description:
After the Dwarfs broke through the defences of East-gate, they first see the greatness of the lost halls. More and more goblins go to see and fight the intruders of their kingdom. The dwarfs are trying to fight their way through the hordes, but they don't notice reinforcements are coming.

Historical Participants:
Good:
Balin
Oin
Ori with the Book of Mazarbul
8 Dwarf Warrior With a two-handed ace
8 Dwarf Warrior with a bow
8 Dwarf Warrior with a shield
4 Dwarf Rangers with a two-handed axe
4 Dwarf Rangers with a long-bow
4 Dwarf Rangers with throwing daggers
5 Khazad Guard

Evil:
1 Goblin captain
1 Goblin captain with bow
2 Goblin Shamans
16 Goblins with shield
16 Goblins with bow
16 Goblins with spear
3 Goblin Prowlers with two-handed weapon
1 Cave troll with troll-chain
1 Bat Swarm
2 Giant Spiders

Lay-out & Starting positions:
The game takes place on a 112cm by 112cm board. The board is covered with some small rocks. Four pillars are standing in the middle of the board. The good player deploys in the East and the evil player deploys in the West. But the evil player doesn’t deploy his whole force, he keeps 15goblins aside(see the special rule)
Image

Objectives:
If one force is reduced to 25% of the starting force (including reinforcement), the other side wins. If both sides are reduced to 25% in the same turns, it's a draw.

Special rules
Reinforcement:
At the beginning of the game 15 goblins are kept a side (this may include captains and shamans, as long as it are goblins). At the end of each evil-movement-phase the evil player can chose to put the goblins into play. The goblins come into play touching one of the pillars. The goblins can only come into play if there's enough space to come into play. Only the 15 goblins can get into play this way, not casualties who found death during the match.

Point match:
The Good player selects 600Points from the Moria Expedition list. The Evil player selects 600points from the Moria and Dwellers Below list. The evil player still keeps 15goblins aside and if the player doesn’t have 15goblins, he selects the maximum.

again, leave some feedback
(yes i know the map isnt that great, but i'll work on that, and for testplaying it is good enough?)

I'm sorry, I believe I misunderstood what this is. Is it a short novel about the retaking of moria written by us? Or is it playing games of SBG and then, instead of making battle reports, writing stories out of it? :? Or is it something else entirely?

well, you know the sourcebooks you can buy at a gw-store? or the sourcebook you can download here?

we're creating such a thing too, so it contains scenario's, painting and terrain guides. and of course articles about history.

all to recreate to history of the dwarfs in khazad dum^^

(i hope this cleared it a bit up)
