I'm 50/50 on the matter...

One one hand, it's your model, so do what you will with it. It's a good showcase of your talent, and it does differentiate between each Ringwraith.

I have had an idea floating around in my head for a while, to do something similar, but rather than OSL, which I don't feel up to pulling off successfully, rather, just painting the cowls of the robes different colours. I've already done it with Khamul for the FotN, and was thinking along the lines of purple for the Witch-king (royalty), dark blue for the Shadow Lord, a sickly green or beige for the Tainted, not sure about the Dark Marshal, I think as his hood is down, he'd get by with plain black robes.

On the other hand, you are painting a very iconic miniature, which people have very concrete notions of how it should look. There will always be the purists (or old people) that disagree with anything deviating from Tolkein canon.

Guys, I'm 100% with you. Nazgul is Nazgul and it should be all black. But since I have couple of them to paint I just want to make this painting a little less boring ;)

Let's face the facts, I could paint entire 5 in time I spend on Tainted's sword.

Other matter is that for gaming purposes (WoTR especially) it's just helping to distinguish them from one another.

And form what I get from Tainted's rate on CMON the idea is not accepted (either that or ppl think that technique side sux ;) )

Seriously doubt that ;)

I thought that Hasharins and Tainted will get me higher in the rank closer to first 1000 :D I gues I'll have to better than that :D

My favourite thing so far (with these wraiths) is what you did with that sword and the blue light it emitted. Fantastic! It looks like it's full of potent magic. 8)

Just realised what I said!

Sorry, I meant many of CMON's members are losers who are rubbish judges.
You're miniatures are stunningly painted and deserve very high marks. One does not win 'best in competition' too often you know!
However, taking it the way you have is very positive! Always striving to get better is better than getting stuck in a rut of personal obsession...

Yeah, I wouldn't paint Nazgul like that myself, partly because I could never paint as good as that and the other reason is that they don't look as "wraithy" anymore. That's not to say they don't look good, because they look brilliant! I just see them more as a way to showcase your amazing talent rather than as "the" Nazgul. 8)

Keep up the great work!

You know, in some ways a bit of a glow isn't too far fetched from some of the original Tolkien entries on the Nazgul. Apparently they have glowing red eyes (even visible in daylight), and when enraged appeared to glow with a "hellish fire."

Plus it looks bloody awesome, great painting job. A bit of originality is never amiss!

I'm with Zakael on this one, I think they look cool :-D

Also I'm bored with all these black bed sheats running around, at least yours have a spark of imagination in them 8)

A little break from Nazguls and Administration Law (the Constitutional Law - passed :D )

I've started to paint and possibly clear on eBay minis that I don't need just like this company of MT archers. I've found it somewhere on the back of box of mins and decided to paint it in standard scheme (in oppose to that white scheme I'm doing on comission).

Great as always Wiktor, but I think it looks better when you paint them with white cloth :)

It's simply Vallejo Model Colour Black highlighted by adding white (same manufacturer). ;)
